19.01.2022 My Family Day Care business is now surviving on $4.85 per hour thanks the the Child Care Relief Package. Parents currently using my service want to pay but are not allowed to, and now we are told they cant even provide their childs food for the day to help out. Other essential workers - teachers, nurses - who are working havent taken a huge pay cut. Why am I being punished?

17.01.2022 From the time your little one starts grasping for objects with their hands, they are developing pencil grasp! Activities such as moulding play doug...h and clay, threading beads onto twine, and using scissors to cut different materials are just some of the ways we can strengthen the muscles in our hands that are needed when developing fine motor skills, and mastering each grasp! StartingBlocks.gov.au has some fantastic supports for families about child development too! #children #eylf #childcare #childdevelopment #finemotorskills #grasps #earlychildhood #teachersofinstagram

03.01.2022 I have received the following email from the Health Department regarding Gastro: This email is to advise you that there has been a recent increase in reports of gastroenteritis (‘gastro’) outbreaks in childcare centres and schools in Perth and the South West. Over the last two weeks, 12 childcare centres have reported children and staff ill with diarrhoea and vomiting. Historically, only 2-3 outbreaks have been reported over the same period. The outbreaks have most likely be...en caused by viruses which are highly infectious and therefore easily transmitted from person-to-person. Some of the viruses (e.g. norovirus) that cause gastro are not killed by alcohol-based hand gel. It is therefore important to remind everyone to perform good hand hygiene with soap and water as this is the most effective way of preventing the spread of infection. Children should be excluded from day care until 48 hours have passed with out any symptoms.
