25.01.2022 Hello lovely people! Meet Zeffie Rose the newest addition to the Little Poppies family! She is now 10 weeks old and a big chubby bubby. I just wanted to come on socials to say I hope all are doing okay in the world at this strange and difficult time. We will get through this. As of right now Little Poppies will still be reopening at the very end of May - Tue 26th. We will continue to update over the coming weeks our status as understandably the current situation is out of o...ur control and I cannot say whether this will interfere with the reopening date set. For those needing care on the coast in the coming weeks - we have positions available for 12 months and above. Please feel free to email or dm me - address in bio. Thankyou and stay safe and most importantly stay home so we can come out of the other side sooner rather than later. #littlepoppiesfdc #fdc #centralcoast #ettalong #stayhome #childcare #smallbuisness #smallbusinessowner See more

24.01.2022 Balloon Splatter Painting ages 3+ Such a FUN process art activity using balloons and liquid water colors (or food coloring)! 22.01.2022 My busy (and by busy I mean BUSY!) 2 year old needs constant stimulation and distraction to keep her little brain occupied. This is a good little iso hack as well to buy some time. If you have a big storage container, shell pool or in our case baby sisters bath Chuck a bunch of scoops, spoons, bottles, strainers in - whatever is going - add some food colouring and water - your good to go! Lots of learning, fun and play to be had! #littlepoppiesfdc #toddlerplay #waterplay #isoplay #sensoryplay #myfamilydaycare #fdcideas #ettalong #centralcoast

19.01.2022 I’ve been busy cleaning, decluttering and rearranging Little Poppies this long weekend. Making it nice and fresh for when we reopen! We are waiting out the next month to see how things are looking in the world both in the early childhood sector and the wider community. Still hoping and aiming to reopen in May for our current and new families. Happy Easter and stay safe

17.01.2022 This week, early childcare staff and school staff across the country will go into schools where they will interact with children of medical staff who are highly exposed to COVID-19. They will not be given face masks or protective clothing. They probably won't even be given hand gel. They won't get free coffee, half price pizza or special shopping hours. They will perform their jobs in ways they have never done before and they will do it with a smile on their faces so that the... children in their care don't know how scared they are; Scared for those children. Scared for their own. Scared of being responsible for taking the virus home to loved ones. Thank you to all a Educators, Teachers, Teaching Assistants and anyone else heading into a school this week to keep it running so that our amazing health workers and carers can take care of the sick and the vulnerable, our shops can stay open and services can continue. You too are heroes! *Copy & paste to show appreciation for all Educators, Teachers & School Support Staff continuing their duties at this time*

17.01.2022 Salt dough ornaments painted with water colours for Easter. Very easy and fun for all ages! Alaska (my little girl) and I mixed 1 cup of table salt, 2 cups of flour and 3/4 cup of water. Mix it together until it makes a dough. We then rolled it out using a knife to cut out the shapes. We had a butterfly cutter as well which we added in. Bake for a few hours in the oven on low until hardened. This activity is great as it combines a variety of different learning experiences in one. Mathematics in regards to measurement and shapes, Science, sensory play, creativity, communication skills - particularly following directions, language development and team work. #littlepoppiesfdc #familydaycareideas #easter #eastercraft #diy #familydaycare #earlychildhoodeducation #earlychildhoodeducator

14.01.2022 Looking back on past learning experiences at Little Poppies in celebration of Reconciliation week.

13.01.2022 Looking through pics of my gorgeous kiddies playing at Little Poppies. How I miss their cute faces and curious little brains. We miss all our friends both past and current.

11.01.2022 Hot cocoa mix and a little bit of water makes for a great piggy mud bath. Since it’s difficult to get to the store these days, what other common pantry items do you use for sensory play?

10.01.2022 Spray Bottle Alphabet Game ages 3+ Here’s a fun activity that will keep kids entertained and learning all while improving fine motor skills! Full Details: https://www.raisingdragons.com/spray-bottle-alphabet-game/

06.01.2022 Little Poppies last day open is today. I will be closed until roughly May 2020 as I’m having my 2nd little Bub. We will have some placements available when we reopen for ages 12 months and above. If you wish to go on our wait list feel free to contact us and I will get in touch closer to our reopening date (TBC). Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! I’ll be a bit quiet now on this account until we reopen next year.

06.01.2022 We miss all our lovely families and kiddies so much! I will be able to give you all a better idea come July when we will be able to reopen our doors officially. Don’t forget us - as we haven’t forgotten you and your gorgeous little ones. I am a passionate educator and am dedicated to getting our friends back in care. Lots of love.

02.01.2022 Happy World Bee Day Here’s some cute and easy ways you can make these important little guys with your kiddies if your feeling crafty. Egg carton, toilet roll (which we all finally have now in our rubbish bin ) or a stone collected from the garden or on your daily walk. Lots of fun to be had to keep your busy bee’s occupied!
