22.01.2022 One of those everyday but somehow completely magical moments... Everyone gathers around one of our mums at drop off time to learn about our new skeleton. These guys dont just go to day care together, they have become family to each other. My daughter is so blessed to have such beautiful little friends, who themselves have beautiful families... I am very blessed to have these people in my life.

18.01.2022 I wanted to share this really special picture with everyone... Montessori isnt a thing. Its not a particular toy or a game. While the resources & tools we giv...e our children to use are really important, montessori in & of itself isnt really tangible at all. Montessori is a philosophy. An educational approach. A way of life. This is my one year old cherub learning how to cut with her new kiddicutter knife. Standing on stool at our kitchen bench. Actually helping me prep for dinner. Was it the fastest way to prep? No. The tidiest? No. Did she get it first go? No. But she did learn. She did engage. She did enjoy. She did feel a sense of pride when the cut the zucchini in half. She did smile when I thanked her for helping me. And she did actually do a real job. Watching little people learn is the most precious gift I think life can offer

16.01.2022 We've been busy making a beautiful new little poppy! It's very exciting learning about Montessori for infants, & I'm falling in love with this philosophy all over again. Here is Mr 11 weeks just LOVING the Munari infant mobile I've just put back up for him over his change table.

15.01.2022 This, right here, is the greatest pleasure in what I do. Today three of these beautiful children all mastered different activities theyve been practicing for various amounts of time... Puzzles, sound boxes, sensorial materials... I stood quietly, unobtrusively, with tears in my eyes as I watched the pride they all felt. It was such a privilege to see. This is why we Montessori.

06.01.2022 Its so important to have the right space for our little people to learn & thrive in. Our kids kitchen is a repurposed tv cabinet destined for the dump. With a little creating thinking & DIYing we have a fantastic space where the children can prepare & serve their own morning tea, before washing their own dishes. They are learning about independence, portion control, wastage (we keep all of our scraps for our hens), responsibility for their own needs, cleaning up after oneself, patience, sharing, safety (if we spill water on the floor)... There are so many lessons in this seemingly basic task!!! The best part? Seeing their pride & satisfaction in being able to complete these tasks on their own

06.01.2022 Today we had some of our favourite little visitors over for a play date & some lunch. We set up the new sandpit in our mud kitchen area, & peeled & sliced our own eggs for lunch. So much learning happening today!

04.01.2022 After being introduced to Montessori last year I have seen first hand how incredible this pedagogy truly is. I am determined to see a Montessori education available to my children, in our wonderful Ipswich City. I have started a collective of similarly passionate parents who are determined to use people power to make this dream, a reality. If youre in Ipswich, and share my passion, please head over & join our community. Together, we can pool our skills, knowledge, resources, & strength, to make Montessori Magic happen for our kids!! https://m.facebook.com/Montessori-Movement-Ipswich-1644802725837638/
