22.01.2022 This week in Viola Blue, we celebrated the diverse cultures of our children, families, communities, and world. Although officially Harmony Day was only on 21st of March, at Little Angels, we decided that celebrating it for a whole week would be much better. Hence Harmony Week commenced! We started off each morning by greeting each other in different languages such as Portuguese, Spanish, English, Mandarin, Korean, and Japanese. We did paintings with Aboriginal art as provocation while listening to music of different cultures. The children were encouraged to follow the rhythm of the music and let music inspire the flow of their art work. We had cultural puzzles and Japanese styled bowls and chopsticks set out. We also looked at a globe of earth to find out where our cultural backgrounds lay in our world

21.01.2022 Ariane’s Pretend Wedding Thank you to all those who played along! For those who don’t know our beautiful Ariane was due to get married tomorrow and unfortunately due to Covid 19 restrictions Ariane and her partner Joel had to make the tough decision to postpone their special day. Of course, here at Little Angels there is no way this day could have gone by without some form of crazy elaborate plan from the life of the party herself Kelsey in charge! We decided to throw a SUR...PRISE pretend wedding for the gorgeous bride and stand in groom; Dani! We did cause some slight confusion as the children and even parents were very perplexed by our outfits! Thank you to our resident baker Ashleigh for the stunning wedding cake. Patricia, Lily and Kassy for putting on the most amazing grazing table of treats for the staff. Thank you to Kelsey and Litofor putting together the perfect ceremony, Sophie for the thoughtful slideshow and thank you to everyone for sharing this hilariously wonderful day with us. To our beautiful bride, we know you will have your special day soon enough and we are so glad we got to see you smile today and enjoy yourself today! From all of your crazy colleagues!! We love you. 20.01.2022 Congratulations Little Angels at Pagewood Green! We were able to collect a total of $175 for our Pyjama Day 2020 fundraiser. Little Angels at Pagewood Green also matched our donation so as a service we were able to donate a total of $350!! Woohoo!! We are so very proud! Helping Foster Kids achieve their dreams... The Pyjama Foundation was founded in 2004 to give children in foster care the opportunity to change the direction of their lives with learning, skills and confide...nce. Alarmed at the statistics highlighting poor literacy and numeracy levels of children in care, and how this contributes to a lifetime of disadvantage, founder Bronwyn Sheehan made a decision - a decision to offer hope and a more positive outlook for these children. Through a simple program known as the Love of Learning Program, volunteers called Pyjama Angels are matched with a child in care and spend an hour a week focusing on learning based activities. Pyjama Angels read books aloud, play educational games and help children with their homework. In that time they demonstrate that each child is valued and loved See more

18.01.2022 Last Thursday the 21st of March we celebrated World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. Our beautiful children and families helped us put together a video of themselves saying hello in their chosen language, we also encouraged our educators and children to come dressed in their cultural clothing. Finally no day would be complete without some yummy traditional cultural treats. Thank you to everyone for sharing their culture and knowledge with us!

17.01.2022 To extend on the Orchid rooms excursion to the park on Clean up Australia Day, we set up two tubs! One consisted of icey waters with sea animals, plastic and cardboard rubbish and the other consisted of animals that were either stuck in a net or plastic was stuck in and around their bodies. We discussed the correct procedures for rubbish disposal and the affect it would have on our animals and our environment if we were to litter and dispose of rubbish incorrectly. We strongly believe this was a great teachable moment as it allowed the children to extend on their knowledge of respect for their environment and the world around them.

16.01.2022 The Viola Red children have been exploring an on going interest in space over the past couple of months. Today we explored with Bubble wrap painting. The aim of this experience was to develop their learning about planets into a creative experience. The children took this experience and further developed their knowledge through sensory exploration, the children enjoyed getting creative and messy.

16.01.2022 Yesterday we tricked five of our fantastic educators into thinking we were holding a talent show and they were chosen to be the judges.... Little did they know we had been planning a surprise graduation party for them. We feel very lucky here at Litte Angels that we have a team of such dedicated and passionate educators who are always finding ways to further their studies and knowledge. We ended our graduation with a surprise video put together by the children and staff. Another fun day here at the Little Angels headquarters. Thank you to two of our local businesses for providing the most amazing bunch of flowers and cakes for our girls. @treasureandbloom @cakes_by_horgiexx @ Little Angels at Pagewood Green

15.01.2022 An authentic connection to the natural world, in relation to children’s own contexts, provides them with the knowledge of how they can contribute to a more sustainable future. During this experience, the children collected lemon myrtle from our bush tucker garden and then took part in cooking damper with it. Our preschool children engaged their senses as they learnt about this native Australian plant and how it can be used in delicious and nutritious food.

15.01.2022 In our Orchid room we have been exploring our very own Fairy Kingdom. The Orchid children have loved decorating their fairy rocks and adding to their Kingdom. To extend on their interest in all things glitter we provided them with watermelon stars, blueberries and banana to make their very own Fruit Fairy Wands! The children used their fine motor capabilities to build their wands and enjoyed eating them and filling their bellies with healthy, nutritious food. YUM!

15.01.2022 This morning we hosted our first Mums and Dads morning tea, despite the morning's down pour! We did a few minor adjustments and ended up hosting the morning tea in our Orchid room. Thank you to our beautiful mums and children for attending. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope you all did too. It was such a nice opportunity to speak with you all and get to know some of the other mothers at the centre. We are always in such a rush dropping off and picking up we rarely ge...t that opportunity to mingle and reach out to others for a chat or advice. We cannot wait to host the next one!!

14.01.2022 and some more st paddys day fun from our littlest angels

13.01.2022 Meet Ashleigh, our newest trainee! Ashleigh did her year 12 work placement with us last year and loved it so much she couldn’t wait to come back. Ash is a friendly and enthusiastic educator who adores working with children. She has been nannying for over 6 years now and is so excited to begin her career in the Early childhood industry. She particularly loves watching children grow and blossom into their own personalities and she gets so much joy from watching children achieve and accomplish tasks they may not have been capable of doing before. Along side the children here at Little Angels, Ash will be learning as she completes her certificate lll in early childhood education.

13.01.2022 Our Kindness Jar. Today we introduced a kindness jar to the preschool children. We discussed ways in which we can demonstrate kind gestures towards our peers. The children came up with ideas such as helping our friends when they fall over, holding their hands when they feel overwhelmed/scared and sharing our toys. We noticed the children showing kindness towards their friends throughout the day and in turn, encouraged them to place a felt heart in the kindness jar. We think it’s important to develop social skills such as these which will enable the children to understand their reciprocal rights within their community.

11.01.2022 Here in the Dahlia room the children have been participating in shared play experiences. We have found these type of experiences allow the children to build bonds and share magical moments together #buildingbonds @ Little Angels at Pagewood Green

10.01.2022 *Animal wash station* our marigolds enjoyed painting our animals and washing it off again in a sensory experience. They all enjoyed splashing in the water with their animals using their gross motor skills. They also used their imagination while imitating the sounds of each animal. This was a fun activity that kept the children engaged/ verbally interacting for a long period of time @ Little Angels at Pagewood Green

05.01.2022 The children in the Viola Red room have recently expressed their interest in flowers. We explored this interest through planting our very own sunflowers and learnt about the life cycle of a seed. We followed this up with a opportunity to explore with flowers in a different experience. We provided the children with the opportunity to experiment with a flower press and create a glass window artwork, this is a natural play based experience. Touching and exploring with flowers encourages creativity, imagination and social skills.

04.01.2022 The educators at Little Angels have put together our very first TikTok in the hope that it brings you at home as much laughter and happiness as it did us. Stay tuned as we have a few more up our sleeves

04.01.2022 Hello from the Marigold Room- this morning our children challenged their gross motor skills by using balancing beams. The balancing beams were set up along the room spread out to give the children enough space to comfortably explore while balancing. They all did so well engaging in shifting their weight to balance comfortably, and using their hand eye coordination. We had so much fun in the Marigold room and the children showed strong interest in this experience. I’m sure this will be a popular activity for weeks to come, we are very keen to develop further on this interest.
