25.01.2022 First market since 2019 this Sunday at @theempireplantsback. Can’t wait to see the beautiful venue and all the other stall holders. I’m bringing some of my pots, homewares and jewellery so pop in and say hi. And let me know if there’s something in particular you want me to bring.

23.01.2022 If you’ve got a Dad who likes some light in his life I’ve got Father’s Day covered.

23.01.2022 One week to go til the @backontherackbrisbane market. I’m so excited to be able show off my jewellery range including all of the pieces I create with my concrete and recycled jewellery. Plus I’m a bit excited to see everything all the other stallholders will bring.

22.01.2022 And for anyone following the what is this list it’s the cover for a manhole once the big metal lid is removed. Can’t wait to see my vine growing on it.

21.01.2022 Shell and a concrete pebble

21.01.2022 Some more pop up shop plant growth. Not as super cool as the bunny ears but I’ll take it as a great sign that the plant is happy!

20.01.2022 Tomorrow I’m the last person to teach a @rawartworkshops adults workshop at West End. They were where I taught my very first ever workshop so it’s my sad pleasure to be doing it. It’s also my first in this Covid/foot op year that I’m doing. If you haven’t had a chance to meet me in person or even read anything about me on Insta here’s a repost from their page that you can use to get to know me. #Repost @rawartworkshops with @get_repost... OKAY! Our LAST 2020 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT before our final Adult workshop this Saturday 'Concrete Pots & Vessels'. (swipe for pics) -------- Introducing the lovely Michelle of @littleconcretejungle who creates a stunning range of concrete wares & unique accessories. -------- How did you first get introduced to your craft? I grew up watching my father concrete on our family farm and there was something magical about it. When I needed a pot for my windowsill it was my first choice to go to. What things inspire you to create? I get inspired by a million different things a day. I believe creative people can find inspiration in even the most boring to normal people places. It’s like our secret super power. I’m constantly looking at how concrete is being used in public landscaping/architecture and how it has been aging over time. Anything that combines metal, concrete and wood makes my heart sing. Seeing how plants adapt to different environments is also inspirational particularly where it isn’t the normal ie growing in cracks on walls etc. Which artists / crafters do you look to for inspiration? Luckily living in Brisbane I have a lot of artists and crafters that I now call friends as it’s quite a creative community. Seeing what they are up to, as well as creatives around the world, on Instagram etc makes me feel like getting out in my workshop and creating too. I love the work of Jade Tree Ceramics, The Green Lamb, Meekz Contemporary Jewellery and Designs by Fish. Although they all create in different fields it’s their ability to see things in such a cool way that I love. What are 3 fun facts about you? I’m obsessed with plants (though you might know that if you look at my Insta feed). I See more

20.01.2022 Some more moodboard inspo. If only I had a spot I’d love a hanging chair. Not to sit in either but just to look divine. My hand cast beach pebble magnet just reminds me to get back out into the workshop. Friday afternoons are meant for wistful thinking. How’s the weather here in Brissie? Like ice this morn and sweltering summer out of the wind this afternoon.

19.01.2022 Some Little Concrete Jungle inspo for your Wednesday. It’s been a bit quiet here. Got a couple of amazing things in the works but I’m still just getting back into the swing after the old foot op. Spring has sprung which means lots of gardening dreams and plans too.

18.01.2022 It’s Xmas star time again!!!!

16.01.2022 I’m about to start pouring lots more over the next few weeks for an exciting new opportunity. Once I get the final details I’ll share but for now I just need to be organised, efficient and creative.

15.01.2022 Bought this beauty on the weekend. Shame it’s one that I will be selling. Now just to start to make more of my super extra large pots - there’s a first time for everything!

14.01.2022 Some morning sun on a pair of my recycled sterling silver, cedar, brass, concrete and pebble earrings. Inspired by my farm/beach childhood. Still one of my favourite designs called Saturn Returns. Still love that name @robeandcrown

14.01.2022 Can anyone guess what this is???

12.01.2022 This little one is coming along to Sunday’s @theempireplantsback market!

12.01.2022 And I’m back living the retail dream today from 9-4pm. And Xmas is now here thanks to my tree. 3/57 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley.

12.01.2022 This pot of succulent loveliness is coming along to the @theempireplantsback market tomorrow. All the cuttings are now rooted and growing away lovely.

11.01.2022 Looking down on some windowsill pot love. More often then not I make and plant and sell and it makes me happy. This one however I wish I’d kept. Never seen this plant since. It’s just such a cool pattern.

09.01.2022 Up close with my gold

09.01.2022 Some concrete, recycled sterling silver and vintage brass and Indian charms.

08.01.2022 Can you imagine how long it would take to paint each individual spot? @the_green_lamb you would probably know exactly seeing as your paintings are so beautifully dotted.

07.01.2022 Detail from one I made a while ago

06.01.2022 Here’s a link to my 3000 followers sale. It’s 30% off til Sunday to celebrate in my Etsy store for delivery within Australia. https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/LittleConcreteJungle

06.01.2022 So my foot was good enough to get out and op shop last week for a bit. As well as loving plants, interior design and concrete all combined I love jewellery. One of my big aims in my business journey is creating jewellery that incorporates my concrete pieces with repurposed and recycled materials which include pieces of jewellery that I buy from op shops. This creates sustainable and highly individual jewellery that makes you feel that little bit amazing. And yes it is very hard to work out what I keep and what I repurpose sometimes...

06.01.2022 I want to write a deep post such as life is a jigsaw puzzle..... but really I just love a puzzle piece. Whenever I have these at a market they are all put together by the end of the day usually by someone who does it when I’m not even looking. It’s an inbuilt process.

04.01.2022 If you are in Brisbane and you are looking for a Father’s Day present and don’t want to head to a shopping centre I have this concrete tray. Perfect for wallet, keys and coin - pretty much for anything. It’s 20cm x 28.5cm. DM for price.

03.01.2022 These are my Nanna tealight holders. Named such as my beautiful Nanna was a very wonderful and supportive Nanna. She was always reusing and recycling and when I started my little business she would save me so many containers. She even had a special spot to keep them in so when I would visit I could pick which ones I liked. Well these ones were from one of her favourites little dessert cups. Thankfully they were her daily treat for a while so I got lots. They fit perfectly on windowsills and anywhere you need a little glimmer of warmth and relaxation.
