21.01.2022 What the Ladybird Heard invitation to play and investigate. Such a fun little series. We also had a felt board with the characters which we acted out as we read the stories. Keen to read the next book what the ladybird heard on holidays.

20.01.2022 Africa!!!! We had a week of being transported to the African continent. We had drumming circles and guest appearances from the Madagascar crew. I made African animal masks. We learnt all about the wetlands, grasslands, desserts, community, tradition and ways of life, animals!!! We had a felt board and animals and the children played along withthe felts to the book, Handas surprise. This has got to be one of my all time favourites!!!

20.01.2022 This week we researched Billabongs and the creatures who live in them. We read Splosh for the Billabong by Ros Moriarty. It has amazing illustrations by Balarinji. We loved the descriptive language used to explore what a billabong might feel, look, sound and smell like. We then continued our to develope our understanding by creating our own mini billabong, planting frog attracting plants. Hopefully we have some little tadpoles very very soon, we have been checking everyday.

17.01.2022 The terrible Plop is a very funny story about a smart little rabbit and a brave bear. We acted out the story with our animals that were featured and created our own apple tree. We also had a few plop experiments too.

08.01.2022 This is just a few more sensory/ fine motor/ cognitive activities we have done over the past few months. All designed to help develop these important skills in the best way possible, through play.

07.01.2022 Early Years Care has some of the most passionate, professional and caring educators. It would be wonderful if you could vote for Early Years Care FDC Scheme. They are so supportive and help us all to provide exceeding services. Thank you Early Years Care!!!!

07.01.2022 Kokedama FDC style. What could be more fun than mixing dirt and clay together and smooshing fluffy sphagnum moss all over it! Then making holes and planting little plants.

04.01.2022 As we can’t participate in excursions at the moment I decided to bring the farm here in a farm adventure in a very round about way. We have had many fun activities. Sensory trays with green spaghetti , split peas, corn kernels, oats and rice. We’ve planted our winter vegetables, shucked corn, painted with corn, had alphabet searches and counting egg games, open ended educational activities and invitations. And just to really bring it to life I made a cow, which the children names bessy and they were able to attempt milking. Haha. There really has been a lot of laughs and wonderful learning.

04.01.2022 Towards the end of last winter we did a small unit on Antarctica! We had a few different activities but the kids loved reading about penguins, seals and icebergs.

03.01.2022 The Gruffalo week. We cooked roasted Fox and owl ice cream. We did shadow drawings of the big bad mouse and so many other activities. This was such a fun topic!

02.01.2022 Who can resist a tea party especially when your tea is pink and red and you can also paint with it!

01.01.2022 It’s been another fun week learning all about dinosaurs and seeing just how huge they really were.
