24.01.2022 My wish for you today: May your naps be long and your laundry baskets be light (or empty...we all like them better empty) TIPS FOR A LONG NAP... 1. Putting to bed after an age appropriate waketime ( I won’t post all of them here but shoot me a message for your little ones appropriate waketime) 2. Put into bed awake so they are falling asleep independently ( so they can transition past one sleep cycle independently) 3. Make the room DARK! It might be daytime but that only means the body has less melatonin and sleep drive going on. Add some darkness to help signal the body it’s time for sleep 4. Sound machine .... to block out the doorbell or dog for when the postie comes to deliver your long awaited parcels #babyprep #beyondmotherhood #unitedinmotherhood #boymom #girlmom #toddlermom #toddlermoments #threenager #motherhoodrising #lifegivingsquares #postpartumjourney #holdthemoments #joyfulliving #seeksimplicity #4months #5monthsold #6monthsold #thepursuitofjoy #queenslandmums #thehappynow #sleepbabysleep #sleepybaby #sleepwell #naptimestruggles #safesleep #naptime #bedtimesnuggles #sleeptime #sleepregression #ineedsleep See more

23.01.2022 A little vitamin d is good for all of us! One way to help your newborn differentiate their days and night is to spend some time outside or open the windows and curtains to let the natural light in during the day. Try implementing a wake up routine. Similar to a bedtime routine do the same things every morning to start your day. ... Some things might include Open the blinds , let that sun shine in! Change their nappy Have a nice full feed in the natural light. get dressed Spend some time in both the morning and afternoon outdoors . Go for a stroll and enjoy the fresh air. This will help your little ones circadian rhythm to adjust outside of the womb. And it will do your postpartum self a whole lot of good too! See more

20.01.2022 It’s that time again! Progress shots with this 4 month ( now almost 5 month old) gem! Also, I am seeing clients again on a limited case by case basis while I continue lean into this postpartum period so just let me know if you want to chat and we can go from there!

19.01.2022 Some more client love! One of the things I love about my job is I am able to help families anywhere, regardless of where they live in the world! . When you have a newborn sleep is top priority! Getting baby on a schedule so they can achieve that sleep can seem like a daunting task when you are exhausted yourself. ... That’s where Heather can help! She is able to make a custom plan for you and your baby that will get them sleeping through the night and taking nice long naps. Our baby is 3 months old and is sleeping 12 hours every night already! It’s been a huge blessing and has tremendously helped in my healing process as well. Being able to message Heather any of my sleep questions was such a comfort. I would highly recommend her to anyone! And the fact that I live in Canada and she lives in Australia made no difference!! Thank you Heather for the gift of sleep! Thanks for your kind words @mamakrause87 ! See more

19.01.2022 Bedtime routine! The best bedtime routines are about 30 minutes in length. Too short and your child may not have enough time to wind down and too long and you might find them with a second wind. Either way we want them to have a nice predictable routine so they know what to expect... (BEDTIME)! Try and keep the same activities in the same order as a part of the routine. These will become sleep cues for your child and help them wind down. ... A great bedtime routine might look like this : Feed or snack Bath Get dressed / baby massage / hygiene Stories / Songs Cuddles In bed awake What is your favourite or least favourite part of bedtime? #bedtimeroutine #boymom #girlmom #toddlermom #toddlermoments #threenager #motherhoodrising #lifegivingsquares #postpartumjourney #holdthemoments #joyfulliving #seeksimplicity #momentslikethese #thepursuitofjoy #queenslandmums #thehappynow #sleepbabysleep #sleepybaby #sleepwell #sleeptips #safesleep #bedtimesnuggles #sleeptime #sleepregression #ineedsleep #sleephelp

19.01.2022 Bump Update. We are 32 weeks and counting over here! I think.l this might only be my 2nd bump photo . #thirdchildproblems Time is flying and I can’t believe this little ones arrival is just around the corner. I’ll be taking some time off starting at the end of March but I’m hoping to help as many of you get more sleep before then as I can!

18.01.2022 As a first-time mum I really wanted to just follow my baby's lead and let him guide me as to his needs. Unfortunately for us we had a baby with food intolerances which led to bed sharing and a baby that just could not settle without feeding. I had read a lot of contradicting information about a baby’s ability to self-settle and was so conflicted; but I knew I needed quality sleep for the health and wellbeing of both myself and my bub that I had to make the decision to seek o...ut a professional sleep consultant. I was so thankful to be referred to Heather. At first, I thought there was no way that we would get our bub sleeping in his own cot, through the night and without feeding to sleep but after just three days magic Our bub slept through! This process definitely came with its challenges and tears from not only bub, but myself and my husband. But we did NOT ever have to leave our bub alone in his room to cry it out, feeling abandoned and neglected. We were with him through the whole process, gradually giving him the skills to self-settle and love sleep! Now we actually feel like parents, enjoy spending time with our little man and look forward to trips away. We could not have done it without Heather’s gentle guidance and are beyond excited for our future. What an absolute joy it was to work with this family and their sweet 5.5 month little man! See more

17.01.2022 Hoppy Easter Everyone! Our days are still very much blurred together and rolled into one but it was still nice to all be together and acknowledge that He is Risen! Hallelujah! By His grace and because He lives, I can face tomorrow...

17.01.2022 Happy 10th Anniversary to my one and only, my biggest cheerleader and the greatest father and husband. In one way it feels hard to believe that it has been 10 years but when I reflect upon all that we have done, been through and accomplished, I’m not surprised it’s been ten years. Here’s to an incredibly blessed ten years ... and many more to come. ... I love you @ivanedeling and am so so thankful for you.

16.01.2022 Progress shots! And it’s nearly time for another one. I think I just need to be okay with the fact that posting these will always be a few weeks behind ! Swipe to compare :)

14.01.2022 It’s a BOY! Andrew James Ranen was born 03/04/2019, 9:12pm, weighing 7lb 10oz. We are super smitten with the newest member of our Little Everest family and are enjoying figuring out life as a family of FIVE!

14.01.2022 Snack time! If you’re tired of doing up individual plates for snack times. Give making platters a try! The kids love it and it makes for a lot less dishes in the end.

11.01.2022 We are thrilled to be adding to our family in March! Edeling party of six!

10.01.2022 When life is chaotic, hard to figure out, exhausting and yet strangely beautiful and lovely all at the same time.

07.01.2022 I know I have been silent on social media for a while in general. But if there was ever a time to break that silence- that time is now. My heart is heavy by what I see around the world right now. Can we all take the time today and ask ourselves what can I change? What do I have to learn? Because the answer for all of us is definitely not nothing. And if we all learn a little - I think we can change a whole lot.

06.01.2022 Does your little one look like this come naptime? How do you know when it’s time to drop a nap? Whether it’s 4-3, 3-2, 2-1 , there are some things that can indicate your little one might be ready for a nap transition. ... 1. Resisting a nap altogether - chatting, babbling , rolling around , sometimes for upwards to an hour! If this behaviour is abnormal for them and it continues for up to 2 weeks, Then that is a sign it’s time for a nap transition 2. If One nap is consistently shorter then the others ... - first thing I suggest is reevaluating their waketime before the nap and possibly make some adjustments. If the nap is still short - look at a nap transition ( if age appropriate) 3. Early morning wake ups - if sound, light, and temperature are not an issue then they may be reaching their overall sleep Quota and be ready for a nap transition. Sleep is extremely complex and these suggestions are just the tip of the iceberg. Get in touch if your situation is a little more .. well.... messy! #thestruggleisreal #naptime #naptimestruggles #boymom #girlmom #toddlermom #toddlermoments #threenager #motherhoodrising #lifegivingsquares #holdthemoments #joyfulliving #seeksimplicity #momentslikethese #thepursuitofjoy #queenslandmums #thehappynow #sleepbabysleep #sleepybaby #sleepwell #sleeptips #safesleep #bedtimesnuggles #sleeptime #sleepregression #ineedsleep #sleephelp #mothersgroup #babysmiles See more

03.01.2022 Exhibit A for why I don’t post much these days. Anyone else find their arms full and coffee spilled when they try and sit down for ten minutes?

01.01.2022 Sometimes it’s not until we are stuck in the mud that we realise something has got to change. I’m not here to tell you to change anything you are doing that’s already working for you. Nobody is perfect and we are all on our own beautifully messy journey (just like this little man). But it’s when you are stuck in the mud and not able to enjoy life like you used to, that’s when something needs to change. And if that something is sleep ..... well that’s where I come in

01.01.2022 Contrary to my lack of engagement, we are home from a truly magical holiday back in Canada. (Swipe right for more) I hope to share more memories soon but in the meantime... thank you @_saraleblanc for capturing our family during this special time! . . PS. I have limited spaces left for one on one clients before taking some time off for our newest additions arrival.
