21.01.2022 We regularly rotate our herd through different paddocks for a couple of reasons. It allows us to rest paddocks so that feed can grow back again but also really importantly, it helps to reduce worm burdens on the pasture. A good three months over summer or 6 months in the cooler months will destroy the presence of worms, their larvae and eggs. If ingested by our livestock, they can build to unsafe levels inside them, causing the animal to get sick and can lead to death if left untreated or not caught early enough. Rotating paddocks is an easy, effective and natural way to maintain a healthy herd. We still need to test for worms counts regularly to make sure everything is under control so that we can continue to have a happy and healthy herd of clowns
