24.01.2022 Almost Easter Today we did the first of our Easter crafts using good old potato stamping. Some craft ideas never get old. The children used the potato stamps in different ways, some painting the paint on, some dipping in the paint and some painting the top of the stamper We also remembered the time we hatched eggs last year and talked about the baby chicks ... Some of our Little Friends extended the craft by finger and handprint painting. See more

23.01.2022 Dreamtime Storytime A fascinating morning at the Fremantle Art Center (with our friends Little Sparrows!) listening to Noongar Elder Betty as she lead a storytime session about native animals. She bought different animal pelts and traditional clothing for the children to touch and try on. After the session she invited us to share a dish of kangaroo tail together. Not all the children were brave enough to try it but those that did loved it!... We also had fun crunching and swirling in the crispy leaves before the session See more

16.01.2022 Tree Day A beautiful morning with Sarah's Tiny Tigers and Little Sparrows Family Daycare at Baldivis Children's Forest! The children were given the freedom to explore a new area of the forest. They found a fallen tree that they enjoyed climbing and discovered a cubby that sparked their imaginations. ... We planted seeds ready to grow and observe for ‘tree day’ on Sunday 28th July, once these seeds have sprouted we look forward to sharing these with our families and community to plant the native plants

15.01.2022 Djeran Today the children learnt about the season of Djeran, using information from the Wadandi Cultural Custodian Iszaac Webb. The younger children made art using the colours of Djeran and natural found resources (sand/soil and leaves) and the older children researched some traditional foods and plants available at this time of year using the ipad.

Happy birthday Master W, so happy to spend your special day with you!

07.01.2022 Were going to the zoo, zoo, zoo How about you, you, you? Weve had two wonderful trips to the zoo recently! I find each time we go we find new things to love The painted dog puppies, along with the reptile talk / snake handling (for those brave enough!) were definatly todays highlights.... Repeated visits allow the children to feel really comfortable somewhere. They also mean we dont have to rush and can really enjoy each moment. It also helps to cement knowledge through repeated exposure and encouraging interests. Its so wonderful when they tell you something they learn on their last visit

06.01.2022 Ice play Today we revisited an activity that we enjoyed over Easter with our Little Friends. Melting our ice eggs to find the prizes inside provides a sensory experience, while also providing reward for patience and determination.
