25.01.2022 These two smoochy brothers are looking for their forever homes as a pair. They had a rough start to life and like to lap up the love. Could you offer them the forever home they deserve? Please share!

25.01.2022 FREE DENTAL CHECKS IN DECEMBER Did you know that dental disease is one of the most common medical conditions seen by veterinarians? In fact, it is estimated that more than two-thirds of dogs over three years of age suffer from a degree of dental disease! The best way to prevent tartar build-up is through daily tooth brushing using a pet specific toothbrush and toothpaste. Special oral chew toys may also help with reducing the amount of tartar build up in your furry pal!... If your pet has dental disease, we can do a thorough dental examination, followed by a dental procedure involving a dental scale and polish removing all tartar build up from the tooth's surface. If periodontal disease is severe, the tooth may not be able to be saved. This will then require an extraction! Dental disease causes pain. Pets mask their oral pain very effectively. Our pets deserve to live with a pain-free mouth So give us a call on 8398 3988 to book in for your free dental check with your pet today!

20.01.2022 The signs as dogs

19.01.2022 Introducing Moose A kind member of the public brought this little kitten to the Littlehampton Vet Clinic last week when he was found cold, sick and alone on the main road in Hahndorf. We worked quickly to warm him up, give him some fluids and see how we could help him. The kitten was sick and had a perforated eye that was leaking fluid, so we gave him some antibiotics but unfortunately his eye was already too damaged to save. Operating on a kitten at such a young age can be ...a tricky task but not removing this eye would have led to a much more serious infection! Catherine bravely went into surgery and successfully removed the damaged eye. Since then, the kitten has recovered and has adapted really well to life with one eye. This little furry bundle of joy is now called Moose and is busy running around, playing and learning how to just be a cat. Feel free to drop into the clinic to come and meet this little miracle! 18.01.2022 **Important announcement for our Hills Community** Murray Bridge has recently had dogs test positive for Canine Parvovirus. Parvovirus is a highly contagious and very serious viral infection. It can live in any environment for long periods of time, including soil, soles of shoes, carpets, food bowls and timber floors etc. These dogs may have been visiting hills public areas including dog parks, walking tracks and other public places, which could lead to community spread betw...een dogs who are not up to date with their vaccinations. Please check that your pets vaccinations are up to date! If you have a new puppy, please make sure it has completed its course of vaccines before it visits any public places. Please call Littlehampton Vet clinic on (08) 8388 3988 if your pet is due for vaccinations, and stop the spread of this deadly virus!

18.01.2022 Maggie, the dog, arrived at my vet clinic a year ago in a coma after having 4 litters of puppies in 2 years. She is now thriving. Moose, the kitten was brought the Littlehampton Vet after a kind women found him nearly dead on the main road in Hahndorf. He was emaciated and had a ruptured eye. They are both thriving and have become part of my family. The lesson for me is never give up and they didn’t. 17.01.2022 We are happy to announce that Cilla has found her forever home and settled in very nicely! As you can see she has the master suite of cat carriers as she came to visit us this week, very loved. Everyone at the clinic is glad she has found a home

17.01.2022 As we welcome the warmer weather, grasses begin to produce long spined seeds. The spine assists the seed to burrow their way into anything, including our little furry babies! The most common places grass seeds are found include ears, nose, eyes and in-between toes, leading to superficial abscesses So, how can you make sure you reduce the chance of your pet getting a grass seed? - In long-coated breeds, check their fur regularly and trim away any fur from toes... - Always check paws for grass seeds after walks or time outside - Keep your lawn short to reduce access to grass seeds - Avoid walks in tall, grassy areas If you are worried your furry one has a grass seed, please make an appointment with us as soon as possible! We will provide optimal care and pain relief to make sure that your best friend is as comfortable as possible whilst we work to solve the problem. Stay safe Love from The Littlehampton Team

16.01.2022 Did you know that September is national desexing month? Moose had his procedure on Monday, and now he doesn't have to worry about the birds and the bees! Is now a good time to book your pet in too? Come in and see us at Littlehampton!

16.01.2022 Yesterday, a member of the public brought this little guy into us as he had been in a battle with a cat, leaving him with a cat bite wound on his belly. He is a young blue tongued lizard and even though they can reproduce around 30 times in their lifetime, their survival rate is very low so only one of these offspring are likely to survive into adulthood. We felt it was important to help this little one out. After some creative thinking by Catherine, she fixed him up and now he has a reptile mansion set up in the clinic! Come and meet Elmo :)

15.01.2022 These 3 little rescue kittens are about 6 weeks old. Over the long weekend they have been staying with a foster family, and have settled in so well! It's all purrs in this household! If you're thinking of adopting a kitten soon, follow our page as we will have quite a few looking for forever homes in the next few weeks.

15.01.2022 A lovely lady is looking for a forever home Just before Christmas, this cat and her kitten in tow (who now has a home) were brought into us as they had been living on the street. This lovely female cat (also known as Mama) being a new mum at the time, was only 2kg which is very underweight, as she was still feeding her kitten. We treated both Mama and kitten for fleas, dewormed and fed them and desexed Mama. The kitten was fostered by one of our nurses over Christmas and she found a home soon after. Her beautiful mum hasn't been as lucky. Mama needs a home without other cats or dogs but would be able to provide her with lots of cuddles and a warm place to sleep. If you can help us find a forever home for Mama feel free to come into the clinic to meet her or give us a call to chat about Mama's new home

14.01.2022 Sammy is a beautiful golden retriever and she loves treats! She is also a magician and can make treats disappear in an instant- this is her only magic trick but she's very good at it. Very talent, would feed more treats

14.01.2022 This gorgeous kid "Andy" has come to us this morning all the way from Bute! Andy's mum abandoned him at birth. He is now 3 days old and getting some much needed colostrum. We are attached already. Isn't he gorgeous?!

13.01.2022 We think Scout is looking pretty relaxed after his desexing. This seems to be his favorite spot in the waiting room!

13.01.2022 When Jodie came in this morning for her appointment with Aria, her Moodle, she never dreamed she would be helping us feed and cuddle our 2 week old kittens! I think she's in love!

12.01.2022 Little Leonard is growing so big! He achieved his third shed the other day, we just can't believe how fast he is growing! Leonard is now in a larger, more spacious tank. With red sand, lots of natural bark, and a heat rock, we think he's the happiest baby blue tongue in the world! He's looking forward to meeting you at your next appointment!

12.01.2022 Looking forward to the long weekend? Molly here sure is! We will be closed on Monday 8th June for the Queen's Birthday public holiday and will be back to see our furry friends on Tuesday, see you then!

12.01.2022 Catherine is BACK! At the start of the year, Catherine was struck down by a non-contagious auto immune disease which made it difficult for her to work her norma...l hours. Thanks to new drug therapies, Catherine is back to her normal self. She is now 100% and ready to get back to full time work with her lovely staff. See more

10.01.2022 Happy Friday! There is someone, we would like you all to meet and maybe even steal your heart Hi, I'm Cilla, a female British Short Hair and I'm 8 years old. I grew up in an outdoor cattery and lived there until my foster mum and dad rescued me because my owner was an elderly lady that couldn't look after me as well as she would have liked to anymore. I live in my mum and dad's lounge room in a crate and a pen, big spaces freak my out sometimes but I'm getting better at it.... I like my mum and dad's study the best because it's small and I can run around and play and get lots of pats. I get along really well with dogs and other cats. I've never been outdoors, but I like looking out the window, especially when I visit the vet and see Catherine. I'm super friendly, I love to play with toys and love pats, laps not so much yet. I need to find a forever home because my new mum is super allergic to me :( but I'm sure someone will love me :) If you or someone you know would like to help Cilla find her forever home, please give us a call.

08.01.2022 Who doesn't love a gentle, playful kitten?! Rosa was brought in to the clinic by a very kind man who had found her outside a cafe in Hahndorf. She was drenched from the rain, with significant wounds to her side and her neck. The wonderful team here at Littlehampton Vet Clinic took her in, and Catherine tended to her wounds, treating her severe infection and lacerations, and aiding her in learning how to walk again. Little Rosa has been with us here for 3 weeks now, and is learning once again how to be a kitten. Once, a timid little girl who was terrified of people and wouldn't come out of hiding, she is now building her confidence every day, and will never look back! We love you, little Rosa! Keep growing strong!

07.01.2022 These brothers are still looking for their furever home

04.01.2022 Been a long day at work? Moose and Maggie are here to share some love, how sweet is Maggie giving Moose a lick over?

02.01.2022 It’s that time of year again! Cats can become pregnant all year round, however the warm weather allows the cats to reach their peak fertility! This means that shelters around will be receiving an abundance of kittens leading to an oversupply. This could also mean difficulty finding homes for the older cats ... This is a huge concern as cats produce an average of four kittens per litter and can have 2-3 litters per year. This is also a concern for entire male cats as they are more likely to fight over females! This provides the perfect opportunity for transmission of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which can predispose our beloved furry friends to a plethora of illnesses as a result of a reduced immune system. So, how can you help? 1. Make sure that your cat stays inside until they have been desexed! 2. If a stray cat has adopted you, it is highly encouraged you get them desexed, to prevent any stray litters. 3. If you would like to help with the oversupply of kittens, you can also give our clinic or other rescue groups a call as they’re always in need of foster carers Here, at Littlehampton Veterinary Clinic we pride ourselves in rescuing and rehoming stray kittens, and giving them a second chance at life! Additionally, we offer high quality desexing procedures at highly competitive rates. ALL of our patients are provided intravenous fluids and pain relief during the procedure to ensure that they are at their peak level of comfort So, give us a call on 8398 3988 to book in for your cats desexing today!

01.01.2022 Missing! Littlehampton! "Max" ran away during the thunderstorm today. He is elderley, on medication, and very loved, and his owner is missing him terribly. Has anyone seen him?
