25.01.2022 Weekends are always best spent relaxing with my number one girl Throwback to her very first outing for coffee this time last year at @voyagekitchen #labradoodlelove #doglover #lifeisbeautiful

23.01.2022 It’s the final week of Term 1 and I for one am SO ready for a break! It’s been the longest short term ever In some ways I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface but in hindsight, there’s been a LOT of newness for me in term 1. A new job, new music classes to teach and settling into a fuller teaching week than I’ve had for a long time. I’ll be farewelling my St Paul’s yogis today who I’m really going to miss in Term 2/3. They are such a great bunch of kids & have really blow...n me away at how they’ve absorbed Yoga. But Term 2 marks one of my favourite times of the year, returning to @scotchcollegeperth for two terms! So it’s going to be a busy mid-year but a GREAT one sharing Yoga with the Junior Primary boys once again. Happy last week, lovely teachers! #perthyogateacher #perthyogacommunity #perthteacher #perthteachers #perthteachersofinstagram #kidsyoga #kidsyogateacher #term1 #mindfulteachers #kidswellbeing #teacherwellbeing

21.01.2022 The moon is a reminder that no matter what phase I’m in, I’m still whole. My vision is to teach children to know, accept and celebrate themselves using the tools of Yoga while supporting the adults who nurture them. The positive impact of getting Yoga to children and teachers in schools is my dream outcome! ... Currently taking bookings for 2021 incursions and weekly after school classes for both students and teachers. Email [email protected] to enquire and find out how Yoga can benefit your school community.

20.01.2022 Importance of rest, relaxing with gorgeous groups of yogis, charity workshop to raise money for bushfire relief, leading wellbeing study, time in nature, hanging with my Bea (of course) and another amazing year of Yoga with PP-5 boys at @scotchcollegeperth Highlights of 2020 and a 2021 insight ... #littlemoonyogaperth #perthyoga #perthyogacommunity #kidsyogaperth #perthyogateacher #perthsmallbusiness #perthteacher #kidsinperth #perthschools #mindfulkids #childrenswellbeing #teacherwellbeing

19.01.2022 A little reminder to my little yogis that they have all the tools they need to create their own calm. Even when they aren’t coming to Yoga every week. Always teaching them that our Yoga is most important when it comes off the mat and helps us in our lives. #kidsyogaperth #perthkids #kidsyoga #kidsyogateacher #childrensyoga #childrenswellbeing #calm #createyourowncalm

19.01.2022 Asked my yogis to choose a favourite breathing practice to share with you all. They chose Hot Chocolate Breath because it made them feel warm and fuzzy. 1. Sit comfortably, imagining your favourite cup warm in your hands filled with frothy hot chocolate.... 2. Visualise the swirly, whirly cream on top along with 5 mini marshmallows 3. Take a deep breath in through your nose and imagine the yummy chocolate smell fill up your nostrils 4. Breathe out slowly through your mouth, imagining you’re cooling down your hot chocolate or breathe out through your nose and say mmmm! Repeat as many times as you need to find your own warm and fuzzy feeling! What’s your favourite breathing practice to use with kids?

19.01.2022 Last session with my little yogis calls for some fun Christmas Yoga! Today we’re going to start with making Snow Angels and lying down trees as we relax and visualise lights and colours then use our hand to be a big star that we reach up to the top of our lying down tree as we breathe. Then it’s game time and we’ll get into the fun energy of the silly season! ... What a joy this little group at St. Paul’s Primary have been. #kidsyoga #kidsyogateacher #childrensyoga #childrensyogateacher #kidsyogaperth #perthkids #perthyoga #perthyogacommunity

14.01.2022 You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf. There are SO many creative ways to practise Mindfulness with children. My personal favourite is using environmental sound for mindful listening. What’s yours?

13.01.2022 After a crazy 13 hours of sleep last night and waking up with hot flared-up skin, a croaky sore voice and a heavy, lethargic feeling I asked my body this morning what do you need? The word that floated into my mind was ~ P A T I E N C E... ~ The skin flares will pass. I’ll get back to my early morning rises soon enough. My voice will settle. I might even feel like making myself ‘presentable’ soon But for now, spending a bit more time in stillness and in sleep. At least my dreams were way more pleasant last night than they have been lately!

13.01.2022 Can you think of three moments of joy in your day that you really savour and linger in the deliciousness of? So often we rush through the days and weeks and miss the most delicious moments, especially at this time of year where there’s so much to do, to get, to finalise, to prepare. As we head into the sometimes silly season, can you choose 3 moments of the day to consciously pause? To feel every little crumb of joy in that moment?... Mine for today are: 1. Savouring every sip of my coffee 2. Savouring the quiet moments I get to hang at home with Bea before I head out to teach 3. Savouring the cool breeze of this blue sky day Which joy moments are you savouring today? Tell me below then pass it on to a friend, spread the joy moments! #positivepsychology #joy #kidsyoga #kidsyogaperth #kidsyogaaustralia #childrensyoga #childrensyogateacher #practicegratitude #perthteacher #perthteachers #perthteachersofinstagram #teachersofinstagram #aussieteachersofinstagram #aussieteachers

09.01.2022 Inhale and celebrate all that was this week. All you achieved, accomplished and got through. All you said a big resounding yes to, all you said an affirmed no to. Exhale, put it all down. Let it all be.... It’s Friday, time to transition into rest time, however that looks for you. Any suggestions of fun things to do in Perth this weekend? #perthisok #whatsonperth #perthaustralia #perthsmallbusiness #rest #weekendmood Pic by @laurajaneillustrations

09.01.2022 Just popping up and out of my Saturday nap cave Happy Weekend!

07.01.2022 A little Bunny Breathing to round off Easter weekend Try this cleansing, clearing breath to feel alert and energised! - Kneel down with your back straight, shoulders relaxed and chest forward.... - Keeping your chin level, take three big sniffs (quick inhales). - Then exhale a looooong breath out through your nose. Add a little bunny hop for extra energy!

06.01.2022 Becoming more and more excited to combine my love of music and sound with Yoga for children. It’s so fascinating and SO fun to work with sound. Loving exploring mindful listening and exploring my new @peter_hess_academy_australia bowls with water, rice and pom poms! Have you booked your kids into my Yoga and Sound workshop yet?!... Thursday 15th April 10:30-12:00 at @yogaspaceperth I’ll be exploring some questions coming up about the workshop over the next days. But I’ll let my body shift the sniffles first #perthschoolholidays #perthkids #perthkidsclub #kidsyogaperth #perthyogateacher #perthyogacommunity #perthyoga #singingbowls #musicforkids #kidswellbeing

01.01.2022 Ain’t that true? Planting seeds this New Moon. Patience Taking my time Transforming... #littlemoonyogaperth @laurajaneillustrations

01.01.2022 Hey teachers, I see you. It’s week 7 and eyes are getting heavier, reports are due, routines are getting slacker and the kids are getting higher with the mention of Christmas. Don’t feel bad if you need to skip the recess catch ups cause you need a little bit of quiet time to yourself.... Find 5 minutes to fully pause. Find a quiet space, put the laptop away, get comfy and do some hot chocolate breath (see my previous post!). Teach it to your kids and teach them how to slow down when the outside world gets excited, busy and full of sensory overload. Rest, rest, rest. For you AND for them
