24.01.2022 Hello. A little look at Brands. What they are and why they are so important. TRANSCRIBED AUDIO: A brand is the way a company, organisation, project, idea or individual is perceived by those who experience it. ... It is the door from what you do, to who you serve. It is the way you can reach each other. And how do you open that door? How do you invite your community in? Through the stories your brand tell, the images you create, basically the vibe you are radiate. These are the paths you cut for your audience to access you. And it is also where a lot of your power and responsibility lies ! Because stories help create the culture of our times. They are stories we share about who we are, what we need, what be believe, right now. Beliefs of lots of people, when organised have the power to create new norms, new rules, new worlds. So we can all live freer, fairer, safer lives. #branding #brandsforchange #brandsforthenewworld
20.01.2022 It’s raining where I am today. Rainy days are sometimes my favourite. Time to curl up with some writers, soak up some wisdom. Here are the books that have frequented my bed-stand recently. They often help me better understand myself and the world in which I live and contribute to. Zadie Smith - Feel Free A collection of essays on many things from pop culture to political debate.... Anna Rosling Rönnlund, Hans Rosling, and Ola Rosling - Factfulness Full of facts about the world and how we have changed over time. It’s amazing! No ‘should’ or ‘could’ arguments, this book unpacks recent human history in numbers, what’s worked, what’s set us back, where we are now. Tim Marshall - Divided I’ve just started this one after loving Tim’s Prisoners of Geography. It’s about why we are living in an age of walls and how nationalism and identity politics are on the rise once more. Naomi Klein - On Fire About the need for a new climate deal and how our choices now could be catastrophic. @officialnaomiklein Brene Brown - Dare To Lead A beautiful playbook for developing brave leaders and courageous cultures. @brenebrown Mari Andrew - Am I there yet? A light and funny visual diary of one woman’s journey to adulthood. Lot’s of relatable scribbles! @bymariandrew Xx Happy Rainy Sunday xX
20.01.2022 There is a strong entrepreneurial trend towards ‘fast and flawed’ at the moment, which has some wonderful merits. However engaging in ‘Good Work’ (that aligns your intentions with your impact) naturally takes time, space & reflection. And that’s aye okay too. We believe in making LOTS of space in our schedules, minds, egos, offices and networks to do Good Work. So we can thoughtfully build better, fairer, safer futures for all. xx
17.01.2022 Not everyone will get it. And that’s okay. They aren’t suppose to, we are a diverse bunch. Don’t water the identity out of your brand, or yourself. Honour who you are and who you serve xx
06.01.2022 Business as usual means further social & economic inequality and environmental disaster. Let’s do shit differently. Resources for building brands for change > found here.
