12.01.2022 Wollumbin (Mt Warning) summit track is an 8.8km return hike and is the first place in Australia to see the morning light. Many people climb in darkness to get to the top in time for sunrise. I worked in Murwillumbah last year and was lucky enough to see it on my drive to work each day. It was closed last year due to the fires and stayed closed during the pandemic. Word is that it will go the way of Uluru and hiking the mountain will be banned for good.
