25.01.2022 Our Juniors had so much fun planting the potatoes earlier in the week, so we extended on this by planting some succulent cuttings for our room! 25.01.2022 Today the Juniors enjoyed some loose part play, challenging their hand eye coordination, trial and error and problem solving skills as they created towers and tried to put the tops through the tubes. This is a simple activity thats easy to recreate with things you have at home and bound to keep little ones entertained and challenged!

23.01.2022 Ahoy mateys! Today the Little Superstars dressed like pirates to support and raise awareness for brain cancer research for children. We made telescopes, loose part pirate ships and pirate hats, and also played a game of Pirate, Pirate Wheres Your Treasure? It was a lot of fun for a great cause! 22.01.2022 Today our Juniors explored volcanoes with a classic science experiment! They helped Miss Sam pour the vinegar and watched in amazement as the mixture bubbled and fizzed. What a great way to extend on our dinosaur interest and science month activities

22.01.2022 This week one of our Superstars brought in some Brazillian cheese bread to share a part of her culture with us It definitely got the thumbs up from all the Superstars, yum!

21.01.2022 This week Little Superstars celebrated our community heroes as we extended our learning for Child Protection Week. We learnt about their roles in the community and all that they do to keep us safe. Thank you to all the heroes out there for your hard work!

19.01.2022 Today, we had a smashing zoom call with St. Finbars Primary School, the Einsteins really enjoyed listening to a new and exciting story, Have you seen Elvis? and discussing what Kindergarten is like. It was an illuminating and very a enjoyable time for all!

19.01.2022 Today we recognised Mabo Day and the end of National Reconciliation Week with various activities throughout the day to help us explore Indigenous Australian culture further. We discussed Eddie Mabos efforts to dispell terra nullius and explored how this would make our Superstars feel, studied the colours of the Aboriginal flag, learnt some new words in the Dharug language, and read some Aboriginal dream time stories.

19.01.2022 Today our Einsteins held their yarning circle around a campfire to extend on our learning during NAIDOC Week. Mr Ben shared the Dreamtime story of Wargan the Crow, and one of our Einstein children shared his news for the day. 19.01.2022 Weve been celebrating Superhero Week for Bear Cottage all week long at Little Superstars. Yesterday afternoon our Smarties and Einsteins enjoyed some superhero races to extend on all our interests and costumes observed this week. Our Little Superheroes ran as fast as the Flash in their races! Superhero Week is about raising awareness and funds for Bear Cottage childrens hospice in NSW. Bear Cottage provide a positive and supportive care environment for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. 18.01.2022 Lets get some science in our diets!! Today the Einsteins and Smarties learnt all about friction! We had a smashing time, filled with giggles as we practised generating electrons with balloons and the childrens hair!

15.01.2022 Today the Superstars recognised World Environment Day with a focus on the effects of air pollution and various creatures of the sky. To help us further our understanding of the winged creatures we need to care for, we had a visit from Miss Tamara and Miss Sams pet birds! The Superstars were so gentle and observant, great work everyone!

15.01.2022 Its Dental Health Week and weve been exploring healthy hygiene practices all week long at Little Superstars. Weve delved into the topic through many dental and healthy eating themed experiences, but brushing the giant teeth has by far been the favourite activity this week! 11.01.2022 Yesterday we had a splashing good time with our Under the Sea incursion! Everyone had an amazing time exploring the vast differences of sealife! The Little Superstars loved the interactivity of the experience, there was so much to see and do!

08.01.2022 Last week the Little Superstars wore purple garments in order to help promote awareness for epilepsy! The Little Superstars engaged in a discussion where we explain what epilepsy is, some of the different triggers and what can follow. We had great turn out of purple!

08.01.2022 Our Superstar green thumbs have been growing potatoes, and have been very interested in seeing the roots grow They also found a potato grub whilst inspecting our garden, which particularly piqued their curiosity!

07.01.2022 Last Friday the Einsteins and Smarties had a smashing time rounding out a week of bird watching. We were very excited to head back out on an excursion, even if it was only to the park across the road. We hadn't seen too many birds at the service, so was quite refreshing to see double the amount.

04.01.2022 On Friday 31st July, we celebrated Schools Tree Day at Little Superstars! Unfortunately we didnt get the chance to head out into the community or have family members join us again for a working bee, but our Superstars certainly got busy as they worked around the garden, planting new seeds for our herb garden and a bonsai tree, as well as doing some weeding and nature craft!

03.01.2022 We've seen a wide variety of lunchboxes in the first quarter of our lunchbox fortnight! Awesome work guys! We love seeing all the healthy meals that are coming in to the centre!

02.01.2022 Last Friday the Little Superstars had an amazing time rounding out Harmony Day! We loved how many children wore orange in support! We also had a great time enjoying some orange themed pancakes that the Smartie Juniors cooked up! Everyone thought they were delicious!
