14.01.2022 Along with shape recognition, color recognition is an important step in cognitive development for children. It plays a part in object recognition, and helps a child develop the descriptive language skills that will ensure clear communication. On Friday, Junior Kindy did our final day of yellow for the week. We all participated in a yellow sensory, tasting and painting activity. All of the children listened carefully and were able to follow each step; placing 2 scoops of hair gel into the zip lock bag, adding 2-3 drops of red food colouring and some black seeds, before zipping up the bag and adding tape to secure it shut.
