11.01.2022 RESEARCH NEWS: New research from the USA has generated interesting findings regarding the likelihood of gluten cross contamination in everyday household environ...ments, such as from the use of shared toasters. The first of its kind study suggests a minimal risk of gluten exposure from the types of activities tested by researchers. Coeliac Australia is actively involved in discussions with both the researchers and other global coeliac disease support organisations regarding future research collaboration and the best approach to cross contact management in the home. Whilst there is no change to Coeliac Australia’s current position, our Medical Advisory Committee is reviewing the research results in greater depth, with further updates to be provided in due course. For more information on the research, please click here https://tinyurl.com/yyb6lz66 For more information avoiding cross contamination please visit: https://www.coeliac.org.au/cross-contamination/ See more
