21.01.2022 We’re grieving the loss of our brother Bones Hillman, who has passed away at his home in Milwaukee today after a cancer battle. He was the bassist with the beau...tiful voice, the band member with the wicked sense of humour, and our brilliant musical comrade. Bones joined Midnight Oil way back in 1987 after stints in various Kiwi bands, most notably, The Swingers. He played and sang on every Midnight Oil recording since Blue Sky Mining and we did thousands of gigs together. We will deeply miss our dear friend and companion and we send our sincerest sympathies to Denise, who has been a tower of strength for him. Haere r Bonesy from Jim, Martin, Peter & Rob.

07.01.2022 When Marc Hunter died I was honoured to be asked by his mother to speak at his funeral, at St. Andrew's Cathedral - to give a music industry perspective on he...r hugely talented son. I can recall bringing a smile to every face there when I told about the towering Hunter brothers dwarfing the miniscule AC/DC at a Sydney open air concert that Dragon played when they first arrived on our shores. Some months before I had been one of the comperes at a benefit concert at Selinas organised by his manager Steven White. I had always been there for Marc and we became good friends - even though our lifestyles were quite opposite. His was a magnetic personality. I would later compile anthology albums of Dragon and of Marc's solo recordings, with extensive liner notes. Keeping the flame fluttering you might say. I'm sure that there is some anniversary I could tie this into but really there doesn't need to be. Marc was an incandescent hero and he was hugely admired. There is still a Dragon formation doing the rounds, led by Todd Hunter, and the songs that Marc sung are rendered very well indeed by Mark Williams, another Kiwi of powerful vocal chords. But lets us forever remember Marc. There will never be another like him. #marchunter #dragon
