23.01.2022 Message from Katrina Fisher My brother Michael Fisher lost everything when his mobile home caught fire a couple of days ago. Not only did he lose his home, clothes and all of his worldly possessions, he also lost the ashes of his beloved best friend of 22 years, Diesel. My brother's only other true love is his archery. He has represented Australia in World Championships for many years. Sadly, the fire also claimed all of his archery gear, as well as his irreplaceable Australi...an shirts and jumpers that he has proudly worn to all of his matches. 12.01.2022 Illawarra Archers would like to invite all novice archers of all ages to register for the Golden Gong event, to be held at their club grounds in the Wollongong rainforest area, on 15 March, and we'd be grateful if you would promote this information to your members. This is a relaxed opportunity for people new to our sport to gain experience in shooting under tournament rules, under the guidance of experienced archers. Participants will be shooting on a full-sized 122cm target..., sending down 30 arrows at each of 30, 25 and 20m. A working bee is important for the maintenance and the upkeep for the venue and the club’s equipment. Whilst a Working Bee is on the Club is CLOSED to Shooting.... Tomorrow we have planned some more clearing up of Shrubs and rubbish to be removed and put in bin and trailer. 10.01.2022 Hi All, News about the Club that will affect everyone. As you are aware the weekend was very wet and windy!... The results of this weather is the Field Course has been destroyed by flood water, the flood water was as much as 30cm deep across the field. All but two Field targets have been destroyed, so the Field Course is CLOSED until further notice. The good news it appears we found all but one of the Field butts, we have spotted them washed into and around the bushland at the northern end of the club. We also appear to have lost about 5 of our target range butts and we feel these may also have been washed into the bushland. When the water subsides in the bushland area over the next few days we will venture into this area and look for them, this morning the water was about 3m deep in this area. WORKING BEE Once we establish what has been lost and what work will be needed to get the Field Course back together we will arrange a Working Bee of members to rebuild the Field Course. At this stage we are looking at conducting a Working Bee the 22nd and 23rd February but we will keep you informed. Emailed to club memebers 10/2/2020
