15.01.2022 7 WHOLE YEARS! Where has that time gone?!? Thought I’d give you a little run down of where I started 7 years ago till now As most of you know, I’m a Jamestown gal. I had just moved back to my hometown from Pirie after finishing my vet nurse traineeship. I knew I still wanted to work with animals and I was lucky enough to meet Amy (old owner of the Waterspaniel) who helped start up my business. And to this day, I am soooo thankful for Amy’s support and guidance. I definit...ely wouldn’t be where I am without her! 2 years on I upgraded to a larger trailer and helped start up Taylor from Cutz for Mutz in the Mid North Area as I was overflowing with work. A year later I moved back to Pirie as it was going to be more practical for work and spending less time on the roads. I rented for 1.5 years before I finally bought my own house geez that was a task and a half when you run your own business Then all in the last 3 months I purchased my last trailer and helped April from Pampered Paws start up too What a crazy journey it has been! And after 7 years, from mid July I’m OFFICIALLY getting down to 5 days a week I’ve worked extremely hard to get where I am today, but time to have a little ‘me’ time and enjoy life a bit more out of work Just a few other random facts: -I’ve clocked up 150,000km on the ute (averaging around 400km/week) -When I first started I would work an easy 3 weeks straight without a blink of an eye weekends were non existent -During winter I average 50-70 dogs per week. Summer 70-90 a week. -The most dogs I’ve groomed in one day was 24 dogs - I’ve never had an official lunch break, I start work till I finish but that’s how I like it - I’ve had 5 sick days in the whole 7 years I would like to thank all my amazing clients for all of your support over these last few years, I really do appreciate it! So many of you go out of your way for me, give me food and other little goodies, send me lovely messages or just have a good old chat with. I’ve grown great relationships with a lot of my clients that I’ll cherish forever. There really are some amazing people out there! I look forward to grooming your gorgeous doggies for the next year and many more to come Much love, Hayley xx

09.01.2022 FYI 12 weeks leading up to Christmas and I’m already booked up for at least 4 weeks in most areas

09.01.2022 With winter here, most people want to keep their doggies a tad longer than usual, which is completely fine! But you need to maintain their coats to avoid matting. I am finding a lot of fluffies that are wearing coats, collars and harnesses most of the time, their coats are matted to the skin and once this happens, that matting aint coming out with a brush without causing pain to your dog so please, to avoid this, purchase a slicker brush and brush to the skin. Some doggies dont like brushing but you have to be persistent to get them used to it. Slicker brush and grooming tips included brushing should be done every second day at least! Just imagine us women if we didnt brush our hair for a month? Itd a mess Love from your doggie groomer who wants to keep your fur babies long too

09.01.2022 I get asked quite frequently if I cut your dogs nails and the answer is YES! Unfortunately as a majority of doggies live inside or in an area where there isnt concrete, pavers etc, the quick (blood vessel) on the nail works its way down further so I can only cut off a certain amount without it bleeding. So my best advice is when you take your dogs for a walk to walk them on bitumen to help wear them down a bit more

08.01.2022 Cooler weather is here and you may want to leave your doggies longer over winter, which is completely fine, but please, please keep up the brushing to avoid matting. Dog coats are my worse enemies they will rub on the dogs coat and knot up their hair so please make sure to take them off at LEAST once a day and brush them to avoid this. Here is a perfect example of where to brush them the most
