09.01.2022 We are not a team because we work together. We are a team because we respect, listen and respect each other - unknown Today, our Butterflies were interested ...in creating their own secret hut. Two of our friends started together by reassembling our book space and creating rooms using our mattresses and blankets. Soon all our butterflies were interested and began working to change our hut into a community centre. Our friends were able to extend their team building and social skills to change and extend our spaces and our sense of belonging. It was wonderful to hear the ideas being shared with the children and watching them problem solve to set each space up and observe as things were moved around to accomodate their needs and ideas. We have the shop for the food - Ike This is for music, we can use it to listen Vihaa This is for our exercises, we need to be healthy I have made a nursery for my baby Engaging in group play gives our friends opportunities to support one another, interact, share experiences and our ups and downs, having this open bond with others is what builds valuable relationships and gives us a deeper sense of belonging. Communities are also rich in resources and building on our skills can help our friends work together to assist with helping children develop their strengths in a loving environment.
