01.01.2022 TENNIS ELBOW What is it? Tennis Elbow, or Lateral Epicondyalgia/Epicondylitis is inflammation of the extensor tendons in the forearm, attaching to the elbow. This condition can occur for several reasons whether it be injury, overuse, activity, age or for unknown idiopathic reasons! ... What are the symptoms? Pain in the lateral (outer) region of the elbow Pain with gripping Pain with lifting, carrying or tasks predominantly using the wrist or elbow (using a screw driver, painting) What do I do? PHYSIOTHERAPY can help! Physiotherapists can help by commencing a pain management and strengthening program. Common treatments can include soft tissue massage and release work as well as incorporating basic strengthening exercises like wrist extension and gripping. You can also try methods such as self massage, ICE and avoiding aggravating activities. If YOU have ELBOW pain, please come in and see us! We are more than happy to help!
