My response - connectedness: Step 1 - Connect to who you are, your vision, mission and values;... Step 2 - Connect with your business as per Step 1; Step 3 - connect with your customers as per Steps 1&2, through enquiry and commit to checking assumptions; Step 4 - do steps 1, 2 and 3 and you will work out the rest through your inspired resourcefulness." 18.01.2022 Negativity is normal. In fact, we are hard wired towards it as our primitive ancestors needed it for protection. The good news is we don't have to be run by it. Here are some tips: => Ask yourself if it's telling you something helpful Eg. safety threat, or unhelpful Eg. sabotage self esteem => Consider different perspectives that are more helpful to you => Enquire or seek feedback over making assumptions

14.01.2022 Fear of failure and even success can kill your healthy habit formation. Some practical ways to overcome fear: => Remind yourself of what you are capable of (if you still don't know think about a time you achieved something significant, or ask someone close to you who can remind you) => Embrace your fear by using it to drive you forward and encourage more action i.e. fear tells me I am challenging myself and striving towards something of value => As humans we tend to be more risk averse, thus fear is more often overcome by a process (taking small steps), rather than one big undertaking (can lead to overwhelm and more fear)

14.01.2022 => more gratitude => more positivity => more growth. Happy no-brainer Monday!

14.01.2022 Emotional outlets are unique ways we express how we feel. They are unhealthy when they lead to conflict or disruption. When we express feelings in a healthy way, we can break its hold or power over us, providing an opportunity to process and move forward. Here are some tips to finding your healthy outlets: => Use what you know and/or explore other options Eg. exercise, speaking to someone, journaling, through art etc => Evaluate your options and give yourself a moment (and maybe a few deep breaths) before making your choice => Seek support from a trained health professional if still unsure

13.01.2022 I was recently asked whether one should keep their goals to themselves, based on a study in this video. Whilst its proactive and healthy to do your own research, information should really be taken with a grain of salt. There are known positive benefits to sharing your goals, particularly when you have a trusted confidant/s. The key is to set manageable goals and also be realistic about the work/effort/time it may take to achieve these goals i.e. SMART goals. Thus breaki...ng down your goals into manageable steps may provide a better chance for success. And lets not forget to celebrate all our wins, big or small - its a freebie boost to our self esteem and motivation! Feeling stuck with your goals, or trying but getting nowhere? 08.01.2022 Stress can warn us of danger, but in excess can cause health problems. Research has shown relaxation helps you manage your stress better (http://www.apa.org/monitor/2008/10/relaxation.aspx). Here are our simple tips: => Take the time to relax. Whatever helps to relax you is the correct answer, and any time is better than no time. Don't know how what makes you relax? Commit to trying something, google research, or seek advice => Make relaxation apart of your daily/weekly routine Eg. when you rise, before bed, or throughout your day => Make it fun and enjoyable, and include others where you can Eg. go for a walk, join a community group, laugh etc etc

07.01.2022 When was the last time you were successful at controlling your feelings? Dr Russ Harris teaches us that controlling our thoughts, feelings and emotions is often wasted energy towards an unsuccessful endeavour. Rather acceptance and making room for them is key. The more we practice making room for unpleasant emotions, the less unpleasant they become and the better we become at taking valued actions aligned with our goals in spite of feelings. 01.01.2022 In her book, Overcoming Grief, Clinical Psychologist Sue Morris, talks about the experience following a wave-like pattern, where their intensity and frequency lessens over time but may be triggered by certain events/situations, usually accompanied by heightened emotions. Here are some drawings completed in a session with a client who has kindly agreed to share their experiences with you all. We identified what her waves of grief felt like and how they would draw her into her grief, and what she can do to help process and ride the wave of her emotions, towards calmer waters. To her accepting the waves has been a crucial component in her healing. The different coloured squiggles in the centre represent the multiple and unique grief experiences in her life.
