25.01.2022 If your going to lift heavy, having spotters is always recommended. Benji found out the hard way that the spotters also require limbs that work to be effective. Stay safe kids.

24.01.2022 Client Highlight: Trevor Trevor joined LiveWell in September, having never previously stepping foot in a gym before. Since then, Trevor has put in the work to feel happier and live healthier life both physically and emotionally. Last Friday he managed to pick up half of his previous body weight in a deadlift and was able to row almost 50kg off the ground. 24.01.2022 Andrew has been nothing but amazing. Throughout the Covid-19 period when gyms were closed, Andrew trained at the park twice a week, in the dark, cold, and wet barely missing a session. Despite tough times and challenges, Andrew never fails to prevail, going from pain in the knees and lower back to balanced leg development and improved balance and stability. His words I never realised I had this muscle (hamstrings)! From not being able to run (due to knee pain) to running ...in the park, doing exercises that focus on metabolic and cardiorespiratory fitness when equipment was not readily available. Breaking out of the comfort zone and going above and beyond. Andrew has now picked up two extra sessions and is on the fast track journey to not only weight loss and strength, but a healthier lifestyle. We all know consistency is hard, so to keep consistent and rise above is exceptional. Training with Andrew, we worked on balance and leg dexterity, which has reduced fall risk and further extends to his water/snow skiing capabilities. Additionally, Andrew went from doing no chin-ups, to doing 4 with plenty more in the tank. Getting stronger by the day, picking up the extra sessions accelerated Andrew’s progress, not only physically but also mentally. Yesterday Bella celebrated her birthday and there were close to ninety candles on the cake. ... However this hasn’t stopped her from continuing to build her strength and fitness. 22.01.2022 You are a product of your environment with Vince and Jeremy the father/son duo feeding off each other and producing amazing results. Vince had elevated cholesterol, and with some minor tweaks with his nutrition he was able to reduce it from 6.3 to 4.3 in 12 weeks! Even the doctors were asking him how he did it without medication. Jeremy came in wanting to drop body fat, build some lean mass and just feel better in general after being cooped up inside due to COVID-19. In 8 we...eks he was able to drop 2kg's and 5cm off his waist along with the reduction of body fat from his arms, mid-section and back. One word that stands out when it comes to these achievements in such a short period of time is Consistency. 11.01.2022 At the start of 2020 Kelly returned to training at Live Well and she has been improving ever since. When she returned in January she started training with coach Niall in the mornings which for anyone who knows Kelly was previously unheard of! Kelly has definitely embraced the morning training, even befriending her fellow Live Well clients who are training around the same time. Since her return Kelly has been making great strides and going from strength to strength; with part...icular focus on strengthening her legs, back and core. But wait there’s more....in the month of July Kelly has picked up a second morning session and is enjoying the challenge of increasing her exercise levels and trying out some new exercises. If you find yourself sitting all day, set a reminder to get up and have a stretch. Your body will thank you for it at the end of the work day.

06.01.2022 I didn’t get tired packing boxes; maybe the gym work from the last 7 months is paying off. While not the most common endorsement I’ve ever heard it is a testament to how commitment to positive lifestyle changes can pay off. Luke has been attending Live Well for the past 7 months training for 1 hour per week with coach Niall. In that time they have focused on quality strength training combined with conditioning work and Luke has shown great progress. ... Luke’s strength has greatly improved and his training has resulted in changes in body shape and improved over all health. 05.01.2022 Push ups are an underutilized exercise to build strength, muscle and also drop body fat. Benji has just recently found that by doing push ups he is able to get the sled out of sticky situations such as deep snow, or sand in our case with a little more ease then normal. Limb length plays a role in a lot of exercises and the individual approach to them is key to performing the exercise safely and effectively. ... Benji’s arms aren’t proportionate to the rest of his body, some would say he is related to Gumby, but we all know red and green aren’t a good color match.......

04.01.2022 Benji had been watching the Live Well members achieve their first ever pull up this year and thought he would have a crack himself. He can hang, just has to work a little harder on pulling himself up. That takes time, a lot of practice and plenty of patience. Something the members of Live Well are experienced at with the break from the studio due to Covid. That didn’t get them down though, they jumped straight back in once we reopened and continue to smash their goals.

03.01.2022 What do you think of when you hear that someone is strong? They need to be in the gym 7 days a week lifting heavy weights, have bulging muscles, even walk around with imaginary watermelons under their arms? What about a mum of three who trains twice a week, juggles work, family, and social commitments. Could they be considered strong?... Susan continues to go from strength to strength and being able to perform a pull up was a major achievement, until COVID hit. Even though Susan continued to train virtually, a pull up bar wasn't accessible (I tried to have one installed in the backyard but I wasn't convincing enough). When we returned to the studio we jumped back into pull ups right away. Within 10 weeks Susan was completing multiple sets of unassisted pull ups and as a warm up now performs 5 pull ups before we add weight. Being able to pull yourself up is an achievement in itself, adding weight shows determination to build on the strength you have and keep moving forward. What is even better is that Susan noticed clothes that weren't feeling that great after being in lockdown are now a perfect fit, debunking the myth that lifting weights makes you bulky. 02.01.2022 After moving to the area two years ago I looked for a gym similar to my old one (offering small group training with a community feel to keep me accountable!), and Live Well was at the top of the list. My goals were to improve my overall strength and lose some centimetres off my midsection, which I was able to achieve with weekly PT sessions with Chris, and semi private sessions with Allan.
