23.01.2022 B IS FOR.... Don’t say that ‘balance’ word. Can’t handle it lol. It’s elusive and almost like a chain hanging off you when you think you haven’t found it in your life. However, I appear to be able to balance when it comes to another b, my bike! 15km on the trusty steed with its awesome new pannier bag thanks to Geraldton Bikes - rode to them, coffee at AJ’s Beach Cafe and then the ride home. Not a bad way to kill a couple of hours this morning. Now for some work in a lovely c...lean house thanks to Linda and her Geraldton Maid To Clean. crew! What a Friday! And picking up fruit and veg from Fresco Produce Geraldton tomorrow makes my weekend easier too. Plus a little pick me up from Charlotte Inwood Naturopathics and I’m all set for whatever is thrown at me today! Use your support systems to make your days, weeks, months work how you need them to. One week might be heavily work orientated, the next family. Just because one day is overloaded doesn’t mean they all have to be. I’m aiming to chuck in some bike commutes into the new role to try and combine exercise into a journey I have to make - two one stone and all that. I hope you have a fabulous Friday whatever you are up to today. #liveworkbehappy #lovemybike #pedalhard #helmethair #supportsystems #bettergetsomeworkdone

22.01.2022 Well...all I can say is wow! Thank you so much whoever nominated me for the Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry- MWCCI Business Excellence Awards 2020. I’m genuinely thrilled to be nominated - some fabulous names in the mix.

20.01.2022 When a staycation is the best thing ever. Well this young man certainly thought so. Time out from the norm for me and this dude for a night. His highlights were staying up late and getting to eat breakfast in bed! Sometimes a little step away from the norm does us all good! #liveworkbehappy

14.01.2022 QUALITY TIME A whole day with these two in gorgeous surroundings, with a camera in my hand = cup floweth over! Definitely reinvigorated and happy to have quality time with these two, which was in great quantity too! ... Practically 12 hours straight and I think I only shouted once (and that was to get shoes on... you know the struggle!) Even had the eldest being a budding photographers apprentice. So much fun. #liveworkbehappy #photographyday #wildflowerhunting #justanotherdayinwa #coalseam #depothill #wanderoutyonder #lovemyboys

12.01.2022 NEW YEAR NEW .... STUFF So these two are looking just a little bit spiffy after a trip to GYLO Salon & Barber. They absolutely love getting spruced up there and they look damn handsome ready for the new school year. This picture makes my heart explode. They are so ‘same same but different.’ They love each other so much and fight an equal amount lol! ... And it marks the beginning of a new way of life with both heading to school this year. Looking forward to the rollercoaster #liveworkbehappy

11.01.2022 TASTE OF HOME On pain of death, on Ben’s recent trip to Perth, he was tasked with heading to the beautiful peeps at The Yorkshireman's Pie to secure as much amazing grub as possible. Oh my, I was not disappointed. In either the husband OR the food. Sometimes a taste of home is just what you need to brighten your day. ... We can highly recommend everything we’ve sampled so far. We’ve got a bit more to sample over the weekend but I’m pretty confident it’s going to be 10/10! #liveworkbehappy #yorkshire #porkpiesfordays #needacuppa

10.01.2022 BRAND PHOTOGRAPHY These two gorgeous human beings engaged me to take some brand photos for their fabulous business Crossroads Life. If you haven’t seen them, check out their FB, insta or website or if you’re local to Geraldton, they’re based at the awesome community space they’ve created, the Railway Hub. We had a lot of laughs, got some beautiful pics and no one fell off the rail platform whilst taking the shots (yes, I thought this would be me) ... Capturing businesses doing their ‘do’ is something I love to be involved with. Especially when you have clients with smiles like that! #liveworkbehappy #brandphotography #NLPmasterpractitioners #hypnotherapy #lifecoaching

10.01.2022 It’s Small Business Day here in WA. First of all a huge THANK YOU from this small business for everyone who has utilised our HR services, had a photo shoot or bought stationery or prints from me. Secondly THANK YOU to all the other small business owners who have supported me over the last few years, sharing their knowledge and ups and downs so we can all benefit. ... Thirdly THANKS to all the other small businesses out there supporting their own families, supporting their community, and being part of the lifeblood of Western Australia. #thinksmallfirst #liveworkbehappy #thanksfromme

10.01.2022 TWIN THING We’ve only gone and done it again. For those of you who don’t know, I’m an identical twin. Those of you who do have probably heard about the unexplained body pains, which aren’t so unexplained when you realise your twin has a sore left ankle too. Or the fact that we experienced each other’s labour pains ... even whilst thousands of miles apart. (I’ll let you know more on that another day.) Or we message each other to find out we’ve bought the same random item or h...aving the exact same thing for dinner. Anyway yesterday, I was chatting with my sister online and she was expressing incredulity at the fact it was ten minutes to midnight and I was still awake. I said I was reading before going to sleep and she recommended a book to me. In reply I told her that I was reading a book by David Baldacci called The Fallen. Instantly she replies, ‘he’s my new favourite author!’ Seriously? 1) will I never have anything to myself and 2) how bloody weird is that? I haven’t picked up a physical fiction book in a while (been reading online) and I was drawn to this one which has been in our bookshelf for I don’t know how long. And of all the millions of books in the world we’re reading the same author? Turns out she read this same book a short while ago but has two more lined up or on the go. Let’s just say it’s a freaky twin thing and leave it there! #liveworkbehappy #davidbaldacci #cantputitdown #twinthing

09.01.2022 SUPPORTING LOCAL Small businesses are the life blood of the economy! Christmas Eve at the Carrie & Co HQ sees us supporting some fabulous local businesses.... I’ve added a bit of bubbly to a glass of the yummo @sprucejuiceco Ranga. It’s being ably supported by some delish pâté from @vervecartel, served on my very own homemade @liveworkbehappy bread rolls and just sneaking into the background is an enormous bowl of fruit from @fresco_produce_geraldton. Just prior to this the boys cracked open a fabulous Christmas Eve hamper from @thehampercogeraldton. The gasps and delighted faces were a sight to behold. There’s been quite a few other retailers and establishments supported this year and we hope our small contribution helps at the end of this interesting year! As the Carrie & Co Christmas card says, Smile It’s Christmas! From us to you, have a very Merry Christmas and a glorious new year! #liveworkbehappy #gotobedsantaiscoming #littletreat #smileitschristmas #supportlocal

09.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day To the main man here in the Carrie & Co house and to our own awesome fathers - hope you have a beautiful day! #liveworkbehappy... Pic by Alison Jane Designs See more

09.01.2022 R U OK?Day The National day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask Are you OK? Have an amazing day and know that I’m always here to listen. ... A little bit of gratitude today to start the day too for me. My first meeting today is via Zoom so I get to experience the hubby’s barista skills. Great hey? #liveworkbehappy #ruokday #asklistenencouragecheckin

08.01.2022 MY VIEW Well it’s been a hectic week and weekend. Hubby and eldest son were away for a few days during the week so H and I were flying solo. Then this weekend seems to have seen the spring cleaner in me kick in (it started on Friday in the office!) I’ve spent the weekend throwing out clutter, filling bags for the charity shop, cleaning and vacuuming the sand from seemingly every part of the boys bedrooms (seriously how do they bring so much home), thinning out the bookcase an...d straightening out rooms that have been desperately waiting for it. I’ve finally sat down to do a bit of work tonight and this is my view. I’ve been thinking about my homeland a lot of late, partly inspired by delicious tastes of home and partly because of the world we live in at the moment. The picture is a clever piece by Tula Moon which depicts the Harris Museum in Preston. Today I picked out the card ‘Follow the dreams that inspire your soul.’ Why yes, thanks for the reminder. I sure will. #liveworkbehappy #followdreamsthatinspire #missinghome #lovemyfamily

06.01.2022 NEW YORK DREAMING This week hubby and I should have been in New York City. It’s where we got engaged nearly 14 years ago (that’s the pic). It’s where his mum used to live and work. It’s why son number two is called Hudson. We’ll get there again one day. ... Let’s not mention we should also have been back in the UK with family either side of the NYC trip because there’ll be ugly tears. See you all soon #liveworkbehappy

06.01.2022 OVER EXTROVERTED OK OK it’s not technically a word...or at least not used this way but after a very busy week, meeting so many amazing people, I think I over extroverted It’s taken me 40 years to accept that I am actually an introvert. I love presenting. Conference speaking. Running team workshops. Meeting people. But when that’s every day, all day, it actually zaps me! Now I know that though, I know I just need a little me time and I’m back on track. ... What energises you? Is it being in large groups? On your own? How do you reenergise? #liveworkbehappy #energy #introvertextrovert #howdoyourelax

04.01.2022 Those 2020 feels!! This is number two kid off daycare today after a bug over the weekend. So sick But it seems to be that time of year. Everyone a little run down. Some tempers frayed. Stress building with the pressure of what Christmas is supposed to be. ... For us, we’re aiming for a chilled Christmas. Treasuring the precious time we have together this year whilst trying to make new traditions. All our family are 14,000kms away but we’ll be in touch over the ‘waves’ and we have lots of friends who are like family here to spend some time with. Whatever your upside down 2020 turned out like, I hope you get chance to have a bit of time out for you, for your family and head into 2021 with a sense of anticipation and excitement! Have an amazing festive season and a happy new year. #liveworkbehappy #upsidedown2020 #familytime #newtraditions #precioustime

04.01.2022 YORKSHIRE PUDDING DAY Can’t let today go by without celebrating my heritage!! Fabulous beef and yorkshires for dinner followed by a spectacular cake, gifted to us by a very talented musician and now it seems, talented baker too! Yummo. Thanks Anne Louise... Throw in some laughter at the table where little H man was cracking up at pretty much everything and you’ve got a lovely Sunday night! Hope you’ve had a great weekend. #liveworkbehappy #familytime #freecake #delicious #luckylucky

Was great to have my little sidekick with me and hopefully we captured the fun and togetherness of the family in question. Plus lots of their yummy food creations... right no more clues... ... #liveworkbehappy #ontheroadagain #itwasahotonetoday #funfunfun

02.01.2022 RESILIENCE Definition of resilience The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.... Yesterday, whilst finishing up at work, I got a message from son number one asking if we could go to the skate park when I got home. It was late. No dinner prepped. A thousand things to do and my instant reaction was ‘hell no.’ Mum guilt kicked in. How many times did I knock these requests back? So I said yes. We grabbed our gear and headed down. After only one lap of the park, son number two landed face first on the concrete. Apart from ‘poor dude’ my instant reaction was ‘well that will teach me for going off book! Sod’s law. Do something different and it all goes awry.’ However, after a cuddle from Dad, H jumped back on his scooter and whilst sporting a rather good looking egg on his head, carried on his laps with glee. It stopped me in my tracks. H didn’t let a little hiccup stop him from having fun. Resilience. #liveworkbehappy #kidsteachus #lovemyfamily

01.01.2022 A LOT LESS CARRIE & A BIT MORE CO So I guess I should let the cat out of the bag officially now. I have picked up a role doing what I love which is going to help me reach even more people than ever before! You may have heard me or seen me talk about helping people secure their dream role. When I was leading a team in Police Recruitment I did just that, helped people secure their dream role. But also helped others to see this wasn’t the path for them. ... Throughout many roles I have undertaken hundreds of interviews, ran huge assessment centres, delivered numerous psychometric assessments, assisted to develop people towards different careers and supported others to go higher in their current career. I’ve helped businesses recruit the right people for the role and given information on different sources of support. I’ve assisted young career starters to gain a traineeship or apprenticeship and set them off on their working life. All of that and more has culminated to lead me to a new role as Manager Jobs and Skills Centre. There I will be able to do all this and more, working with an amazing team of Career Development specialists and the best part of it all....anyone can access these services for free! Mind blowing! What does that mean for Carrie & Co? Well it means that some of the services you may have touched base with me for in the past can still be obtained through the JSC. Some services I won’t be able to provide any more and the ‘Co’ will develop even more to assist you in others. So watch this space. Check out the Jobs and Skills Centre Geraldton page and if you’re in WA but not in Geraldton, there’ll be a JSC near you offering the same amazing free services. How lucky am I to be able to take the next step to support even more people?! #liveworkbehappy #jobsandskills #lessCarriemoreCo
