24.01.2022 Mother and Child The basic building block of our societies and we have given it so little attention. What we call mental health issues are mainly occurrences of a destructive patriarchal-capitalist operating system which aims at eliminating the mother and replace her with the machine. Elon Musk says humans must merge with the machine to not become irrelevant. HUMANS NEED TO MERGE WITH NATURE

19.01.2022 We are excited to be welcoming Thomas Mayor, the author of this book, to our headquarters here in Melbourne, Australia, and online on 19 March. If you are inter...ested in learning more about the Uluru Statement from the Heart and how we can all be a part of a new story for Australia, please book your spot or join us online! ‘Finding Our Heart’ is a children’s book with a message for Australians of all ages. Join us in the shared effort to enshrine an Indigenous Voice to Parliament and initiate a process of Makarrata at every level of society. We can start right where we are, by learning more about the history of this continent, and situation for First Nations people today. What are some children's books that you know that teach important lessons or inform about 'grown-up' issues? #childrensbooks #education #learning #walkingtogether #ulurustatementfromtheheart #treaty #voicetruthtreaty #makarrata #larakia

16.01.2022 Teaching through connected relationship is not only the most effective path towards influencing our children, it is also the healthiest.

14.01.2022 "Most notifications you get are because a machine is trying to get your attention. Those notifications aren't built to help you live your life. They're built to get your attention. If you're an app, how do you keep people hooked? Turn yourself into a slot machine." ~Tristan Harris

13.01.2022 Our holy obligation - Helping to preserve the living fabric of all things - that is Tending the Children’s Fire - that is the Great Tearning If we could unlearn this artificial encapsulation and the empty self and come back into that robust embrace of the soul, what I call our composite identity, then we would remember our wild entanglement with everything. Then I wouldn’t feel like I’m just in self-preservation, but I would be helping to preserve the living fabric of all things. That would be a holy obligation.

11.01.2022 REGISTER HERE: https://bit.ly/RYH_reg We invite you to join us online on March 27 to share an exciting Forum Theatre performance of Raise Your Hand ONLY If You Know the Right Answer created and performed by Rangbhumi (A Happy Playground) theatre group and young people 12-14 years old from Mumbai, India.... The interactive performance will open a dialogue about the difficulties students and teachers face as they grapple with systems and pressures in school and at home and provide an excellent introduction to Theatre of the Oppressed and its relationship to pedagogy and activism. After the performance there will be an opportunity to explore how participants might use Applied Theatre and other arts to support youth programs, educators, and teaching artists and to create future projects which center the voices of youth in the examination of educational systems and learning. Breakout sessions will enable attendees to raise questions and share ideas about: Designing activities in which young people play with, create with, and learn from youth in other groups and cultures. Collaborating with Applied Theatre makers to design projects which support efforts to center the voices of young people in classrooms and after-school programs online and in person. Taking initial steps to decolonize the classroom and build a system that supports all students, staff, families, and teachers. Supporting youth engagement and learning with tools that provide ways for students to dive into social issues. Approaching shared learning responsibilities (flip the classroom) and finding teaching artists to help develop supporting materials. If your school or organization does not currently use theatre or other arts, this is an opportunity to begin. If you already use the arts, this is an opportunity for collaborative expansion. Don’t miss the chance to see Rangbhumi’s stunning performance and to explore Applied Theatre as a revolutionary tool to support and sustain youth in their desire to question and learn. WHEN: Saturday, 27 March 2021 at 9:00 AM EDT, 2:00 PM CET, 6:30 PM IST. WHERE: On Zoom. You will receive a link when you register. TICKETS: Tickets are $10 USD. LANGUAGE: English with Spanish translation. ORGANIZED BY: The Center for Applied Theatre in collaboration with Rangbhumi a Happy Playground, ANAMUH Arts for Dialogue, Spiel_Raum, and Theater der Unterdrückten Wien. Small group discussions will be facilitated by members of the international team of volunteers who planned this event, who are experienced theatre makers, teaching artists, and university educators from the US, Greece, Austria, and India.
