23.01.2022 The last day of 2020.. I know it has been an Annus Horribilus for so many people and indeed the world, but the year has not been too bad for me to be honest. We saw 2020 in, surrounded by smoke and fires and I will admit, it played havoc with my mental health. I was terrified. But I did lots of creating early in the year for an exhibition that had to be cancelled though at least it's all printed and waiting for 2021. I spent a full month before Covid hit with Amelia, mak...ing beautiful memories. I started creating a new kind of image which I absolutely loved, as well as realising that I could tell a story with a headdress. I worked on a film which pushed me out of my comfort zone even further. Excitingly, I found out I'm going to be a Gargie again to more beautiful and much wanted little souls. I (FINALLY) made this house into a home after 4 years of living here. And I had lots of time to reflect on where I want my art to go from here and it's in quite a different direction. If we hadn't had so much forced alone time, I might not have realised that I want to be more diverse in my art. I've always loved a quiet new year. I find it a very spiritual and powerful time and tonight will be no exception. I'll write my intentions for the coming year (not resolutions), and spend some quiet time saying goodbye to the weirdest year most of us have ever lived through while welcoming the new year in. Please stay safe, wear a mask and don't go into crowds. Even better, stay at home! Honestly, if we want a better new year, we have to make sacrifices to our social life right now. Surely that's not too much to ask? However you spend it, enjoy the last day of 2020.. 14.01.2022 Today marks the United Nation’s’ International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Most violence doesn’t start with being hit. It might begin with isolation which looks like love. Then words disguised as love which are meant to undermine confidence. Those words turn to cruel ones meant to silence you. Threats to take children away. When you have no self esteem left and are fearful for those around you, you are more likely to hide the violence as you have been totally disempowered. It needs to stop. We need to educate. We need stronger laws. 11.01.2022 There is no doubt that it’s been a tough year but compared to last Christmas, when we here in the Blue Mountains were surrounded by fires and suffocating smoke, this year feels so much more Christmassy. So I decided I needed a fairy tree this year as we could all use some magic in our lives. I hope the lead up to the big day is trouble free for you and that we all spread some Christmas cheer and love to create that magic.

10.01.2022 How blessed do we feel to be able to film today at the magnificent (and just a tad haunted) Woodford Academy - National Trust of Australia NSW. I just love this place! History oozes out of every square inch of the place. I once exhibited here and I can't tell you how proud I was to have my work on display there and to be part of it's story. Hopefully one day I'll get the chance again.. In the meantime, check the place out.. You won't regret it.. If only these walls could speak..
