20.01.2022 We received this beautiful grain with a wheat themed original first day cover as an envelope. 1948 we were celebrating William James Farrer (3 April 1845 16 April 1906) who was a leading Australian agronomist and plant breeder. Farrer is best remembered as the originator of the "Federation" strain of wheat, distributed in 1903. His work resulted in significant improvements in both the quality and crop yields of Australia's national wheat harvest, a contribution for which he earned the title 'father of the Australian wheat industry'. 18.01.2022 Hello people, we are taking a break and its for renovations for Loafer but its also a mental health break for me. If youre a business owner especially in hospo, Id like to direct you to the excellent podcast @dirtylinenpodcast and @deepintheweedspodcast .Having worked in the industry as an art student casual and later as a professional, its been comforting and affirming to hear aspects of my experience touched on by interviewees. I would say there is something here for everyone in the industry and the last weeks focus on mental health in hospitality is a must listen. Thanks @danivalent @huckstergram for some quality listening over the last few months. Keep up the good work team.

18.01.2022 Sprouted rye grains for the sprout and seed soaker. I was amazed at how much growth there was after 12 hours. Those lower down in the tub had even more rigorous growth! We’re putting that nutritious deliciousness into the bread everyday

11.01.2022 Dear patient lovely loafer customers, youve been wonderful over the last few weeks. Thanks for bearing with our emails and preorders and website business - its going pretty smoothly now. Now for the next steps of easing back to more regular offerings. Were getting ready to start coffee again from the 1st of June. Yay! Weve been wondering how to serve coffee safely without having to resort to single use cups. So if you dont regularly bring your own cup sign up now for @gr...eencaffeen (its free) that way you can drop off your used cup and take away a clean one from us. Alternatively if you have your own very clean keep cup well make a coffee in a dine in cup and then pour it into your cup for you - no touching - not as pretty as tilting the cup etc but still tasty, and no questions about germs.. we will still be one person in the shop at a time so coffee patrons will need to line up outside distanced nicely after youve placed your order and we will run your drinks out to you.
