15.01.2022 Do you buy your lunch (most) days? Why not try preparing in advance? If you buy take out 4 times a week for lunch; that's $40 a week. Multiply that by 48 weeks of work every year; that's $1920 a year Here's one of our favourite meal prep meals. Save for later ; Ingredients... Stir Fry 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 large chicken breasts in bite-sized pieces 1 onion diced 4 cups vegetables chopped (such as asparagus, bell peppers, mushrooms) Half of one lemon sliced seeds removed Sauce 1/2 cup chicken stock Juice of 1 lemon 2.5 tablespoons 1 tablespoon sesame oil 3 tablespoons brown sugar 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon corn starch Garnish 2 teaspoons sesame seeds Instructions Heat oil in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 or so minutes, until chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken from pan and place in a clean bowl. Add an additional tablespoon of olive oil, if necessary. Add the onion and cook for 3 or so minutes, until mostly cooked through. Add the remaining vegetables and lemon slices and cook for 5 minutes, until veggies are tender. Remove the veggies to the same bowl as chicken. Whisk together the sauce until no lumps remain, then add into the hot pan. Cook for 2 or so minutes, until sauce bubbles and just begins to thicken. Return the chicken and veggies to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve with rice. Recipe from @sweetpeasandsaffron

06.01.2022 Do you need 5% of the purchase price? 10%? 20%? Every state is different as it all depends on the costs involved of purchasing your home; as well as any eligible grants. But YES, you can still have the avocado! Whilst owning your own home is GREAT; I wouldn't want you to be miserable whilst saving out and missing out on your weekly brunch dates with friends. Some tips for savings; TREAT your money like you have a mortgage. IE; if your new mortgage repayments are $800 a fortn...ight; start putting that away - so when you do have a mortgage you won't feel the burn! BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET. Do you really need that $500 dress? Look at alternative options like hiring the outfit. Also pay your bills in line with your pay; ie your phone bills can be paid fortnightly via BPAY; so when you do get your bill monthly you (hopefully!) owe nothing! Spend wisely and try to be organised. One grocery shop once a week once you've planned your meals will ALWAYS be cheaper than going to the grocery store every day; as you're more than likely to buy impulsively 4-5 times a week instead of the one. Contact me to see you're deposit ready - you could be closer than you think!
