15.01.2022 ATTENTION POOL OWNERS With recent dust storms and bushfires across our nation the team at Lo-Chlor Chemicals have put together a few professional tips to help pool owners clear up their pools as quickly and safely as possible. The ash and debris from fires can be highly toxic and may include fire retardants. To ensure the safety of people using the pool it is important to understand that the demand on your sanitiser will be much higher than normal. ... Firstly you should Super-chlorinate your pool and adjust the pH to ensure it is within range. Please visit your local pool professional to ensure you balance your water correctly. If there is a small amount of ash or dust in the pool, a strong clarifier such as LO-CHLOR MIRACLEAR LIQUID or LO-CHLOR ULTRA KLEER PLUS 4-1 should assist with the removal. If larger amounts are involved and you cannot see the bottom of the shallow end of the pool, then floccing the pool with LO-CHLOR MAXI-FLOC PLUS may be necessary. Phosphates are the main food source for algae to thrive and bloom and with the use of phosphate based fire retardants along with the intense dry conditions these levels are at the highest level since testing began in the early 1990's. As algae thrives in these conditions, consider using a long term preventative maintenance algaecide such as LO-CHLOR POOL ALGAECIDE. If you have heavy algae infestations and large algal blooms we recommend using LO-CHLOR TROPICLEAR POOL ALGAECIDE. Once you have killed and removed all the algae you MUST follow this treatment up with a phosphate remover. LO-CHLOR STARVER X is the most effective and strongest phosphate remover on the market. This product also contains and strong natural clarifying agent which will help with the process of clearing up your pool. Excessive organic contamination will also be a challenge, so it is recommended to triple the dose of oxidiser being used. Filter the water for a minimum of 12 hours and monitor the filter pressure and backwash as needed. Following super-chlorination, the addition of LO-CHLOR BIO-KLENZ will remove bacterial film that may build in the pool. Clean the filter with a filter cleaning product to remove any picked up contaminants. This will probably need to be done a good few times. For at least the next two to three weeks use 1.5 times the usual dosage rate of your sanitiser. Clean up is going to be a slow process but taking all necessary steps will restore the pool and protect the users. We have included some images of the products listed above so you can recognise them when you visit your local pool shop. If you would like us to recommend a local stockist of our products please PM this page and we will reply as quickly as possible. #becauseitworks

11.01.2022 This year at Lo-Chlor Chemicals we decided to donate to a worthy charity rather than handing out Xmas presents to our loyal customers and distributors. It was an honour to meet the wife of the late Jarrod Lyle (Briony) today at #ausopengolf and present her with a cheque for $10,000.00 to go towards Jarrod's preferred charity www.challenge.org.au. Jarrod touched the hearts of many people including myself and I hope his legacy continues and we can be a part of it for many years to come. #becauseitworks @ Australian Open Golf

10.01.2022 To our wonderful customers out there in the social media world. I wanted to share with this with you as you are as much a part of this as we are at Lo-Chlor. Today we donated $10,000.00 to www.challenge.org.au to support the work that Briony Lyle (wife of the late Jarrod Lyle PGA Golfer) and her team does to support this wonderful cause. Without the support of you our customers and staff, this would not be possible. Briony and her team were so humbled and grateful for the gi...ft and wanted me to pass on their thanks to the team and customers that support the Lo-Chlor brand. YOU THE CUSTOMERS IN PARTICULAR. A proud day in our company's history and an emotional one at that too. To the founder of our company, the late Andrew Simons, I hope you are up there looking down on us proud of what you started and what we continue to achieve. Thank you all for your support and please visit The Challenge website and buy some merchandise to support this wonderful cause. https://www.challenge.org.au/program/jarrods-gift/ #becauseitworks

09.01.2022 13 years ago today we lost this great man, mentor, friend, father, husband and father in law. He was quite simply... the best there was. Thought I'd share some funny pics from the archives this year as we take a moment to remember Andrew Simons. He inspired so many and will forever be in our hearts. Love you Dad!!! @ Sydney, Australia
