23.01.2022 What a busy couple of months it has been- Picnic Races, Powter Day and Spirit of the Land. Winners of the Powter Day were Ken Smith, Harley Male and Renee Parsons. Runners up were Rex Smallwood, Ben Parsons and Lisa McIntosh. The Fred and Biddy Wilson Day was held last weekend with about 40 bowlers hitting the greens. After great bowls, a BBQ was put on by the Wilson Family, with the winners being Rhonda Johnstone and Meg Duncan. This week we had the Roy and Lil Schirmer day which was another great day! Thanks to Col Schirmer for getting things organised. Winners on the day were Max Montgomery and Stuart Carn on 20 points with runners up being Keith Wilson and Graham Johnstone on 19 points. Don't forget Jackpot bowls on Sunday mornings with names to be in by 10am. The Christmas Party will be held on Saturday 14th December.

22.01.2022 RSA Training Course Available On Tuesday the 17th of December 2019, Lockhart Central School will be hosting a RSA Training Course from 9am to 3pm (approx.). The Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is mandatory in NSW for everyone involved in the serving and selling of alcohol.... The course is available to all students, including the graduating class of 2019, and interested community members. The cost for students will be $145.00, and $160.00 for community members. The course is available to individuals aged 17 and up. Individuals aged 17 will be able to complete the course, but the qualification won’t be active for service until they are 18. We would like to encourage all interested parties to please contact the school on the details below, to register their interest. A minimum number of 25 people will be needed to ensure the course runs. Please call the school on (02) 6920 5209 to register your interest. All are welcome.

21.01.2022 Last Saturday saw bowlers enjoy a great day for the Geoff "Spotter" Smith Day- thanks to all the bowlers who travelled from other clubs. Thanks to all our sponsors Liftek Sales, Aristocrat, Landmark, Lockhart Shire Council and Bendigo Bank. These days would not happen without our sponsors. Bowlers were treated to a great meal by our ladies bowlers- thank you. Winners on the day were 1st- Wagga Rules Club- Max Simmons, Bob Robertson and Chris Leonard;... 2nd- Urana- Greg Malkin, Marco Dodds and Mick Dunnett; 3rd - Lockhart No.3 Team- Col Ryan, Ken Smith and Max Montgomery. Club Championship triple winners were Barry Love, Scott Chandler and Darryl Carter. Runners up were Steve Johnstone, Max Montgomery and Terry Mildren. Jackpot pairs on Sunday are going alright with names in by 10am. See more

20.01.2022 Unfortunately the final round of the Business House Bowls was cancelled due to the long overdue rain. A BBQ was held followed by the presentations. Winners for 2020 which is the 20th year of it running was BTMS. Barry Love, Terry Chandler, Meg Chandler and Scott Chandler on 121points. Runners up were the Specials on 109 points and Exies Club third on 106 points. Thanks to all the bowlers who participated and Laurie Carter who was the cook for the past 8 weeks. Special thanks to Riverina Water for their grant which enabled us to upgrade our facilities. Bowlers travelled to the Rules Club on Saturday to play pennants but ran second. There will be a working bee on Saturday 21st March starting at 8.00am. A big thank you to our sponsors of the Business House Bowls-Hounsell's Building and Plumbing.

18.01.2022 What a great picnic race meeting and well done to all the organisers. Saturday saw 40 plus bowlers, turn up for the Frank and John Powter Memorial day. Thanks to the Parson Clan and other visitors who travelled from Canberra, Sydney and Wollongong as well as other places. Unfortunately the Ettalong Boys could not make it this year! After 2 games of bowls and a great BBQ, thanks to Dave Norton our cook, the John Powter Trophy was won by Ken Smith, Harley Male and Renee Parson...s. Winners of the Frank Powter Trophy were Rex Smallwood, Ben Parsons and Lisa McIntosh. This was followed on the Sunday with 20 bowlers turning up for another crack, followed by fish and chips for lunch. Thanks to Rex Smallwood for supplying the fish from the coast. Sunday 13th we have the Shire Shield to be played at The Rock. On the Sunday 20th we have the Fred and Biddy Wilson Day, followed by the Roy and Lil Schirmer day on the 27th of October. These are great days once again. Friday 18th October we have the Caufield Cup Calcutta with tickets available on the night. See more

11.01.2022 The second round of business house bowls saw some close games with B.T.S finishing on top with 37 points, followed by the Cricketers on 36 points and the Railway Rollers and the Lockhart Ex-Servicemen's Club in third spot with 35 points each. Just a reminder that there are no bowls this Thursday night due to the long weekend. Lockhart welcomed The Rock and Yerong Creek on Saturday for the Shire Sheild which was won by Yerong Creek. The Rock were runner's up, and a great day was had by all. Thanks to the Lockhart Lady Bowlers for the great salads and Terry and Riley Mildren who were our cooks for the day. Jackpot Pairs will start up again after the long weekend.

08.01.2022 With one round to go in the Business House Bowls, we saw some great games last week. Although losing their first game BTS are still on top with 121 points, followed by Specials on 109 points and Exies Club on 106 points. The last game will also be our Presentation Night and it would be great if as many bowlers as possible could be there. Lockhart bowlers played Yerong Creek last Saturday and after a great game, unfortunately went down by 3 shots. Max Montgomery won 22-18, St...eve Johnstone drew 23 all and unlucky Jason Healy went down 23-16. Lockhart plays Rules Club next week. Jackpot Pairs has started up again and all new bowlers are welcome, with names in by 10am on Sunday. Our pizza cook is still out of action with a broken leg- hope you are back soon Simone! 06.01.2022 Business House bowls after Round 4 saw some very close games including a draw. BTS have gone to the top of the ladder on 76 points with Shearers in second place on 62 points and Railway Rollers on 61 points. Lockhart played the Rules Club at home on Sunday and in a thriller it finished in a draw on the last bowl. Jason Healy won 22-16, Max Montgomery won 19-15 and Steve Johnstone lost 21-11. Lockhart got 5.5 points winning 2 rinks; Rules Club got 4.5. A special mention to Duncan Lamont who had a blinder. Congratulations to Nola Webster for winning the NRBCJ draw on Friday night. Also don't forget the Chicken and Prawn on Saturday 22nd February. Ten bowlers played Jackpot pairs last Sunday if you would like a game- names in by 10.00am.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to the Lockhart Bowling Club who are receiving a suprise $2,500 Christmas cash boost, thanks to @Corteva Agriscience and @Nutrien Ag Solutions! We nominated them for all the amazing work they do and are delighted they’ve won. The official cheque presentation was held at the club this morning. Presenting the cheque were Connie Mort, Corteva agriscience Territory Area Manager and Peter Ryan Nutrien Ag Solutions Lockhart/Urana Manager to club director Stephen Johnstone, club president Barry Love and vice president Max Montgomery.
