25.01.2022 Great job SA We have a good news !! 25.01.2022 Natural vs added sugar. #dentalhealthweek2020 Two different types of sugar can be found in food and drink: natural sugar and added sugar. Natural sugar is naturally present in unprocessed food, such as sugar in fruit. Added sugar is added during processing.... Can they affect teeth the same? Yes. However, foods such as fruit and milk are made up of small amounts of natural sugars as well as fibre, vitamins and minerals which are good for the body. Milk also includes calcium, which can help to protect the teeth and bones. Processed foods with large quantities of added sugar often have no or limited nutritional value.

25.01.2022 Did you know that the toothbrush was chosen as the #1 invention people can't live without! Be sure to keep up good dental hygiene practices so you can keep your teeth for life!

25.01.2022 How to protect your teeth. #dentalhealthweek2020 Although we try to minimise the amount of sugar we include in our diet, it is extremely hard to completely avoid it. To combat this, we need to ensure that we are consistently working to protect our teeth. Below are the four main ways that you can keep your teeth healthy and happy.

25.01.2022 Starting midnight tonight, our state will be in a 6 days lockdown, this includes our clinic which will be closed for the next 6 days as well. If you have a dental emergency, please call the practice and we will do our best to arrange someone to assist you. Stay safe SA, we will get through this together. #StaySafeSA For more info, go to sahealth.sa.gov.au

24.01.2022 Read the label! #dentalhealthweek2020 Remember that 'no added sugar' does not mean 'sugar free'. In this example of fruit juice, one serve contains 20 grams (5 teaspoons) of sugar. Eating whole fruits and drinking water is a better choice for healthy teeth.

24.01.2022 We at Lockleys Dental Clinic are wishing you all a blessed Good Friday May the grace and lord surround and be with you and your family on Good Friday

24.01.2022 It is springtime but it's snowing in South Australia! - Keep warm and stay safe everyone even in this coming October as the weather seems to be colder than usual during Spring this year.

24.01.2022 Hidden Sugars in Everyday Foods #dentalhealthweek2020 Sugar isn’t just in the foods we expect, like lollies it’s in foods we don’t expect, like white bread, breakfast cereals, fruit juice and store-bought sauces. Sugar may not be listed as ‘sugar’ on the nutrition panel either and sometimes foods that are marketed as ‘healthy’ contain more sugar than is good for our oral health.... When choosing foods, choose those with less than 10g of sugar per 100g. Also, notice how close sugar is to the top of the ingredient list: the closer to the top it is, the more sugar is in the product.

21.01.2022 Have you gotten your teeth checked yet this year? Regular dental checkups are essential for our oral health as it gives your dentist a chance to check your mouth for any possible signs of oral health problems.

20.01.2022 In light of today's news, we would like to ask if any of our patients were at any of the locations listed below to inform us and update us should there be any symptoms developed. - We would like to encourage everyone to practice Covid safe measures and follow the new restrictions that will commence midnight tonight. Let's all do our part and keep SA safe again <3 .

19.01.2022 Literally South Australia when the clock hits 12AM this morning How bout you guys?

17.01.2022 DENTAL TOURISM Think twice before going overseas for dental treatment. Some Aussies consider having treatment overseas to have a holiday at the same time, instead of having it done at home. Is it worth the risk? We don't think so.

16.01.2022 A dental implant may be used to replace any missing tooth! The implant is placed in the bone below the gum tissue and an abutment is attached to the implant to hold a custom-made crown that will be shaped to match your existing teeth! Quite simply, you can count on natural looking teeth and the attractive, confident smile that comes with it

06.01.2022 Today is the last day of Dental Health Week 2020! #dentalhealthweek2020 We hope you have learnt some helpful tips this past week that you can continue to implement whenever you go shopping!... As you have seen, hidden sugars are everywhere, so it is important to read food labels in order to make healthy choices. Saying ‘no’ to an unhealthy item in the supermarket means you don’t have to continue to say ‘no’ at home. In addition to our sugar information, don't forget these core dental tips: Brush with a fluoride toothpaste. Clean between your teeth with floss or interdental brushes. See a dentist regularly to maintain good oral health. Here's to becoming more 'sugar savvy'!

02.01.2022 Wishing all our American patients a Happy Thanksgiving Day ! Go enjoy the night with your family #HappyThanksgiving

02.01.2022 Understanding Sugar and the Nutrition Panel. #dentalhealthweek2020 When comparing products, use the ‘per 100g’ column on the nutrition panel. This allows you to compare apples with apples. Aim for less than 10 grams of sugar per 100 grams, but less than 5 grams is best. Foods claiming ‘no added sugar,’ often contain a higher level of sugar from natural sources but these sugars can still cause tooth decay.... Aim to limit added sugar intake to 6 or less teaspoons per day. This equals 24 grams of added sugar or less. Remember, 1 teaspoon sugar = 4 grams sugar.

02.01.2022 How are all the guys going with their facial hair in this month of Movember? Anyone facing this challenge as well? #Movember
