Issued at 4:38 pm Wednesday, 28 October 2020. The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4:30 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area south of Kingaroy, the area west of Kingaroy and Rosevale. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east to southeast. They are forecast to affect Laidley, Rosewood and Nanango by 5:00 pm and Ipswich, Blackbutt and Yarraman by 5:30 pm. Damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding are likely. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. Issued at 1:06 pm EST on Monday 14 December 2020 Flood Watch Number: 4 River level rises and minor flooding are possible across parts of the Flood Watch area during Monday and Tuesday. Widespread rainfall totals of between 100-300 mm have been recorded across the Logan, Albert and South Coast Rivers catchment areas in the 48 hours to 9am Monday. Localised heavier rainfall totals have been recorded, most notably 750 mm at Upper Springbrook. The Logan, Albert and South Coast River catchment areas are now saturated with renewed river level rises expected with forecast rainfall. Rainfall will continue from Brisbane to the Qld/NSW border during Monday. Storms are expected throughout the Flood Watch area during Monday and into Tuesday. A Severe Weather Warning remains current for the Flood Watch area. River level rises above the minor flood level are possible during Monday and Tuesday. Localised flooding and disruption to transport routes may continue throughout the Flood Watch area, most likely with storms. For people in parts of Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast Forecast Districts. Issued at 10:23 am Monday, 14 December 2020. SEVERE WEATHER OVER SOUTHEAST QUEENSLAND TODAY AND TUESDAY MORNING. Weather Situation: A strong upper level low near Fraser Island has recently induced a complex surface low over Sunshine and Gold Coast Waters. This complex low is forecast to move ashore early this afternoon and continue its west-southwestward track while weakening into Tuesday. Abnormally high tides exceeding the highest tide of the year are once again expected on Tuesday morning's high tide. Dangerous surf conditions will continue about exposed beaches for the remainder of today and in combination with the abnormally high tides could lead to significant coastal erosion about areas exposed to wave action. Periods of heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding remains possible south of about Bribie Island this morning and afternoon. Six-hourly rainfall totals of 100mm to 150mm are likely in areas. Locally heavy falls are possible to the north of this area with thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorm warnings will be issued as necessary. Damaging winds with gusts of around 90km/h are possible over exposed coastal and elevated areas south of about Redland Bay. This includes the Gold Coast, Gold Coast Hinterland and the Southern Border Ranges east of about Darlington. A Minor Flood Warning is current for the Logan and Albert Rivers. A Flood Watch is current for catchments from Fraser Island to the Queensland/New South Wales border. Be one of the first to sit on the landmark memorial in Beenleigh Town Square and post a photo to show your support for victims past and present. These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast.
