24.01.2022 Celebrating a great organisation

24.01.2022 Our last meeting before Christmas with guest Deputy Mayor, Jon Raven. Merry Christmas to all. Here's to 2021.

21.01.2022 An enjoyable and interesting evening with UQ Researcher, Ms Katie Lee. Her work on sunburn and sunscreen was fascinating and enjoyed by all. PP John Nightingale presented Katie with our Certificate of Appreciation.

20.01.2022 Our evening with Tamsyn Rosenberg and Kystal Hingston proved to be both sobering and also uplifting. Youth suicide in our community is an issue we all need to tackle and Rotary is leading the way in supporting prevention based programs. A great evening being both educational and emotional.. (pictured: PP David Ekert recognising the work of both Tamsyn and Krystal and the Alive Project)

19.01.2022 The Rotary family doing what it does so well

17.01.2022 Adults often question whether the values of respect and consideration of others are being taught.Sometimes it can be the result of young men growing up without strong male role models to guide them.A new program about to begin in Queensland seeks to address that issue. The Fathering Project was born in WA six years ago and Ken Houliston, the Queensland State Manager, is speaking next Tuesday night, 11 February at the Riverlakes Tavern. Presented by Logan Rotary the evening commences at 6.30pm and finishing around 8.00pm. Dinner is available at the bar, Ken's presentation will talk about giving men the skills to be good fathers and role models. All are welcome

15.01.2022 Have a merry Christmas and a happy New year from the members and friends of Logan Rotary

14.01.2022 Business as usual. Logan rotary continues to operate during this time of lockdown. Last Thursday night our Board met and discussed District grants, Club management structures and fees for the remainder of the year. It was also great to receive interest from members of the community who wish to join with Rotary and assist those less fortunate than ourselves.

13.01.2022 Youth suicide is one of our community’s biggest issues as it is often not spoken about and is seen as a breakdown in communication within families. The Alive project, based in Loganholme, is a community-driven organisation of people and partners committed to end youth suicide. Our guest this week is Tamsyn Rosenberg, Founder of one of Australia’s leading youth and family support services in emotional wellbeing and fulfillment. She is an internationally recognised expert in ...mental and emotional wellbeing. Tamsyn leads a team that is inspiring. They support young Australians at risk of suicide to feel alive and ultimately choose life through the engagement of our suicide intervention support services and initiatives. All members of the community are invited to attend this week. Tuesday 25 February, 6.00pm for 6.30pm start, Riverlakes Tavern, Cornubia. (Meals and drinks available from bar) See more

11.01.2022 I would like to congratulate Jennifer E. Jones, a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Ontario, Canada, on being nominated to become Rotary Internatio...nal’s president for 2022-23, a selection that will make her the first woman to hold that office in the organization’s 115-year history. 02.01.2022 Rotary makes a difference. Join now

02.01.2022 Every year, the Club acknowledges the anniversary of the birth of Rotary by delivering children’s books to the Maternity Ward at Logan Hospital. Each baby born on or around the 23rd of February receives a book to take home, in the hope that their families will build on this gift and introduce a love of books and reading to their children. This year, Past President David Ekert and his wife Carole presented the books on behalf of the Club. Pictured are David and Carole making the presentation to Mrs Patel and her unnamed son, with Clinical Midwife/RN Cecily looking on.

01.01.2022 Another great idea
