23.01.2022 If you are a Hearing Business Owner then there is a new industry body that has been formed to represent business owners to consumers, government and non government agencies call the "Hearing Business Alliance". For more information about this new industry body visit their website www.hearbusiness.com.au or go their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/hearingbusinessalliance/

22.01.2022 The hearing industry in Australia is about to change dramatically with the opening of the first two Specsavers Audiology sites on the Gold Coast today. This is a paradigm shift is our industry with their aggressive retail pricing model that Specsavers have used internationally in the UK, Ireland, Holland and Norway. Who will it affect? Frankly, it will affect all players in the hearing business owners within Australia and this will require all businesses to review their ove...rall business strategy to remain competitive. Business owners need to be aware of these market changes and focus on how they can adapt. Although many will lament Specsavers entry into hearing, the best advice for all hearing business owners is to focus on your own business and the service model that you deliver to your clients. If you would like to know more about these changes and would like assistance with these changes, please contact me directly at [email protected]

Full Report - http://www.hearingservices.gov.au//Review+of+services++tec Executive Summary - http://www.hearingservices.gov.au//d5/L2dBISEvZ0FBIS9nQSEh/ To ensure that you are fully informed on the policy debate, I would strongly recommend that you review these PwC findings and their recommendations to understand their potential consequences for all small business owners. This report will be used in conjunction with the recent parliamentary reviews on Hearing and the NDIS, therefore will be a very important document. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 0409 729 140 or email me at [email protected] Wishing you all a prosperous 2018!

21.01.2022 If you are a business owner in the hearing industry, the PwC review on the hearing industry is a must read. The 12 recommendations are the biggest change to the hearing sector since the introduction of the current Hearing Services Program. As such, you can not afford to be left out of the conversation, to ensure that you understand how these changes could affect your clinical practices and also the financial impact on your business. It is time to act, be involved and understand what these changes mean to you and your business!

20.01.2022 HBA Seminar this Friday confirmed their Agenda and should be a very informative meeting. Recommend that all hearing business owners who can attend, try and make it!

19.01.2022 The Hearing Business Alliance (HBA) has now formulated their response to the PwC report on the proposed changes to the Hearing Service Program. If you are a business owner in the hearing industry and not a member of HBA, I would highly recommend that you join. The Private Independent Sector is responsible for about 15% of all the hearing rehabilitation within Australia and the PwC recommendations as they stand could put the financial viability of your business at risk. HBA is a business body for all business owners, with a strong focus on the needs of small - medium. Its time to stand up and be heard!

16.01.2022 To all small to medium hearing business owners, I would strongly recommend that you become a member of the Hearing Business Alliance and have your voice heard. It is an extremely important time in our industry and there are many potential hearing industry changes that are now being discussed and potentially about to be implemented. Please note that your Hearing Professional bodies cannot represent your business interests, as they represent their members professional interest only. The Hearing Business Alliance was formed to represent the business interests of all "small to medium business owners" and it is now extremely important that as a business owner your interests are heard in the policy debate about all the potential changes. Get involved and become a member of the Hearing Business Alliance to protect your business into the future.

16.01.2022 Please see the post from the Gain Hearing Network which outlines and answers how the Buying Group works for Independent Business owners. As the General Manager I want to ensure that all business owners are given the correct information. Thanks Stephen Logan

05.01.2022 At a time when small business is continually under competitive pressure, a negative media campaign can only serve to hurt consumer confidence and will most likely negatively impact small business. Over the past 2 years the broader industry has changed and is now collectively working together improve standards and also do the right thing the client. The Hearing Roadmap is a joint initiative from both a broad cross section of the hearing industry bodies and government. The Hearing Roadmap will be a blue print for better hearing health care for many years to come. The Roadmap is a positive step for all consumers and for hearing healthcare.

04.01.2022 The ACCC has now put the hearing industry on notice over poor consumer practices. Its true that these business practices are not uniform throughout the hearing industry and are symptomatic of hearing retail marketing getting in the way of ethical practice. However, you should use this report to not only review your business practices, but also use it to differentiate your business from the chains. This is now a great opportunity for you to show the clients your business provides ethical and individual service standards!

03.01.2022 After nearly 3 years in small business advocacy with both Government and non Government Stakeholders, HBA is now proud to be representing small business in the new Hearing Health Sector Alliance (HHSA). Congratulations to all the members of the HHSA who have come together to give the Industry a united voice to promote hearing health for all. A truly positive step for the industry!
