25.01.2022 Today, November 25th, is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It also marks Day 1 of #16daysofactivism against gender-based violence. The 2020 UNiTE Campaign Theme is "Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!" 2020 has been an extremely tough year for everyone due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but reports have shown an alarming increase in the already existing pandemic of violence and abuse against women.... You can make a difference during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and protracted state of crisis it has generated across the world. You can support female victim-survivors to stay safe and free of abuse. Let's stand together and make a difference! #standtogether #DV #domesticabuse #domesticviolenceawareness #domesticviolence #support #women #violenceagainstwomen #genderbasedviolence #awareness

24.01.2022 While it is always a privilege to attend the #vigil every year, it is also devastating that we continue to come together to remember so many women and children that have lost their lives due to domestic and family violence in 2020. Thanks to Domestic Violence NSW, Women's Safety NSW, Hope and Heal, Mark Speakman and Amani Haydar for organising and speaking this afternoon. To date, 45 women have lost their lives this year! Our hope is that we continue to reduce that number t...hrough education and advocacy #standtogether #DV #domesticabuse #domesticviolenceawareness #domesticviolence #support #women #violenceagainstwomen #genderbasedviolence #awareness

23.01.2022 Reclaim the Night, also known as Take Back the Night, is an annual, international event which actively campaigns against all forms of violence against women. Traditionally, Reclaim the Night takes the form of a rally/march where the public hit the streets and join together to take a stand against violence towards women. We need to reclaim our spaces on the streets, in our homes, online, in workplaces; everywhere. Women have the right to live free of fear, free from the thre...ats of physical, emotional and psychological abuse. This year's 2020 theme is a reaction to the overwhelming increase in domestic violence during COVID-19 and the recent uncovered prevalence of state violence and gendered violence. #reclaimthenight #genderedviolence #genderedviolenceawareness #abuse #emotional #march #womensrights #DV #Standup #women #reclaimyourlife #domesticviolence

21.01.2022 While COVID-19 has had huge impacts for so many people, our main concern has always been for those trapped with their perpetrators, especially during lockdown. But what about women on temporary visas? They have the additional concerns of a lack of financial support, safe accommodation, and the threat of their visa being revoked. #domesticabuse #domesticabuseawareness #DV #domesticviolenceawareness #domesticviolence #charity #awareness #women #standtogether #safety #visa #threat #relationship

16.01.2022 Another horrendous incident where a women has had to take drastic measures to save her own life due to DV. This is so unfortunate but incidents like this are happening all over Australia and the world, it needs to stop.

14.01.2022 At the moment the family law assumes parenting should be shared equally when parents separate. When domestic and family abuse has taken place, that assumption should not be made and it's time the Family Court start to recognise that they need to protect the children involved.

13.01.2022 Thank you After Dark Podcast

12.01.2022 At the start of the week, our CEO, Rachael Natoli, had the pleasure of speaking at the Royal North Shore Hospital to their health workers. Sharing her story with others gives the opportunity to educate about the many forms of abuse, coercive control and most importantly, the road to recovery and re-empowerment! The NSLHD have some really interesting and informative webinars taking place during the #16days which are open to everyone so please use the link to join (for fre...e) if you want to learn more! https://events.humanitix.com/webinar-series-16-days/tickets #standtogether #DV #domesticabuse #domesticviolenceawareness #domesticviolence #support #women #violenceagainstwomen #genderbasedviolence #awareness #inequality

11.01.2022 The 32nd woman to die at the hands of a DV perpetrator this year. This is devastating.

10.01.2022 Yet another domestic abuse incident

10.01.2022 What self-isolation means for those in abusive relationships. Our CEO, Rachael Natoli, speaking about her experience and the risk women and children are at while in isolation.

09.01.2022 Another day, another Australian woman is killed in her home, allegedly by a man who professed to love her. This is 18-year-old Emerald Wardle. Emerald was murde...red this morning in Maitland, NSW. Her partner has been charged. Emerald is the 32nd Australian woman lost to murder or manslaughter in 2020. Seventeen children and 66 men have also been killed this year. Emerald's adulthood had only just begun - and now it is over. There's just no words to explain how devastatingly sad and frustrating it is that a woman so young, in the early stages of her relationship, has been deprived of the right to live, love and grow old. How can our nation accept that trauma or death are often an inevitable part of relationships for so many? Why do we accept so easily that women and children losing their lives to violence is just the way it is? I'd really like to know when all Australians will draw the line in the sand on violence - when will we all say no to violence, we all hold violent people to account and we all work towards supporting women and kids in crisis across all aspects of their lives. RIP EMERALD WARDLE! See more

08.01.2022 Another woman murdered after being sent threatening messages by her ex; another young child left without her mother
