22.01.2022 At 7.46 pm last night (Tuesday), Londonderry RFB was alerted to a confirmed structure fire at a Llandilo address. Londonderry Pumper and 1 (Tanker) quickly responded to assist NSW RFS - Llandilo Brigade and other RFS and FRNSW stations with a fire in a house on a rural property. As this was the third building fire attended by Londonderry RFB in the past 9 days, we'd like to remind everyone of good home fire safety preparation. https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare/home-fire-safety

15.01.2022 This afternoon, Londonderry RFB, four other NSW Rural Fire Service - Cumberland Zone brigades and two NSW RFS - Hawkesbury District brigades responded to numerous calls of trees and powerlines down on the road - in particular Londonderry Rd as a result of a storm generating high winds and intense rain centred on the Londonderry area. Londonderry crews also in the same time period attended a building fire on Londonderry Rd which was contained to an electrical meter box and two calls to automated fire alarm systems in adjoining localities. 14.01.2022 Today we said farewell to our Londonderry 1 Bravo appliance which had served us well for the past 13 years both as our Alpha (primary) appliance up to 2013 and then as our Bravo appliance. In this time she responded to numerous fire and incident calls and even travelled as far as southern Queensland for major bushfires. We also said hello today to our new (to us) Londonderry Pumper, a 2012 model Hino GT500 / Waterous Category 11 4x4 Medium Pumper which has previously served with Regentville Rural Fire Brigade. This appliance will provide an upgrade to our brigades structural (building) and transport firefighting capability with a larger pump capacity, longer ladders - three in total, additional breathing apparatus and additional equipment stowage.
14.01.2022 After Saturday's storm event that locally caused many trees to fall onto roads often also taking down power lines, subsequently further similar incidents have occurred due to weakened trees and limbs on Sunday and Monday (today). At 00.59 am on Sunday, Londonderry Pumper and 1 (Tanker) were responded to a motor vehicle crash on Torkington Road where a car had collided with a tree that had fallen across the road a short time earlier. Fire crews cut up and removed the tree from... the road and then cleared the road of crash debris after the car was removed on a tow truck. At 2.15 am on Monday, Londonderry Pumper, 1 and 9 (Tankers) were responded to a tree that had fallen across Londonderry Road near Reynolds Road. The fallen tree also had taken down low voltage power supply lines. After Endeavour Energy isolated the power, fire crews removed the tree from the road.
13.01.2022 Current predictions for Penrith are 41 degrees on Saturday and 42 degrees on Sunday.

05.01.2022 On Thursday, our Londonderry 1 Alpha appliance which had served us well for the past 8 years and responded to more than 2,000 fire and incident calls in that time left us for a new life at a less busy station and we received our brand new 2020 model Londonderry 1 appliance. The new Isuzu FTS800 / Alexander Perrie appliance features a mid mounted pump which makes for a less noisy work environment for our pump operators, a front bumper mounted monitor ("water cannon") controlled from the cab and an improved burn over protection system. It's already seen action with a grass fire in Penrith on Thursday, a fallen tree on power lines in Londonderry on Friday and a motor vehicle crash at Berkshire Park today.
