05.01.2022 A frequent fossicker, I have an armoury of oddments that I’ve kept with a pre ordained knowledge asserting that they will be useful one day. In these dark strange times of global pandemic, ominous Twitterings and a ‘Karen’ witch hunt, I have been pushed to the point where I finally know what these things are for. As a persecuted Karen, I am reaching further than the manager for protection and predictions. Roughly and instinctively I have been hewing talismans, whilst keening..., to protect my very soul. Karen Lyttle Throughout the month of October, pause for a moment at the LIGHTBOX for 'Karen Takes It Further' : An installation by Karen Lyttle. 03.01.2022 Throughout February, the TOP GALLERY proudly showcases 'Walking Shadows: Bal Maidens & Brisons Veor' by emerging artist Belinda Casey. The exhibition also investigates Cornish emigration to... Tasmania in the late 19th Century and these women’s trace upon the Tasmanian landscape. This exhibition is the culmination of an Artist’s Residency at Brisons Veor, Cape Cornwall, UK in 2019. 02.01.2022 When I first started this small project I had no idea where this series would take me. My research began with the well known adventurous cats; Mathew Flinders and his cat Trim, Harry McNish and his cat Mrs Chippy. Many cats went to sea on naval ships in WW1 and WW2, they were considered good luck plus they made good ratters and mousers. To add to my research I put a shout out on social media for folks to email me their stories of felines on board boats, and to my delight I... had several people contact me with stories and photos of their seafaring cats. Grace Garton Throughout February 2021, the LIGHTBOX is proud to showcase the works of Grace Garton, with her latest installation 'AHOY! Cats On Board'.
