The SRHC has contributed about $150,000 so far to the work and we are very close to having her completed. An estimated amount of $22,000 would be needed to finish the work. Mr Charles Meredith Hall practiced dentistry in Seymour from the 1890s until his death in 1927, his son Sidney Meredith Hall joined his fathers practice in 1925 and continued until his death in 1965 ... It has now been returned to the Hall family

10.01.2022 MISSING MEMORIAL PLAQUES In July 1917 the Australian Native Association put forward the idea of an memorial Avenue to honour the residents of Seymour & District who had enlisted and gone to the front. One hundred and fourteen Oak trees were planted along now what is know as Anzac Avenue and later metal plaques were placed beneath each tree with the soldiers name and number. In 1982 when the road was widened and the Avenue of Honour removed replace by the memorial cenotaph..., the plaques went missing. Does anyone know what happened to the plaques or have a photo of them? The Seymour & District Historical Society have been searching for these for many years and any information would be of great help.
