24.01.2022 Our Toolbox Yarns speaker today was Howard Rigney, a trainee rigger with Intract Indigenous Contractors, who spoke about the career and development opportunities for Aboriginal people at Lot Fourteen. Intract provides services to McMahon Services Australia Pty Ltd, a major demolition contractor here. Toolbox Yarns is a fortnightly event held at smoko time to help build understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous contractors on site. Also speaking were Lot Fourteen Kaurna Community and Heritage Coordinator Shane Wanganeen and RAW Recruitment & Services mentor Wilbur Wilson.

The Australian Space Discovery Centre is set to open at Lot Fourteen in 2021 and it will be the place to explore the possibilities, from engineering to medicine, manufacturing, geology, artificial intelligence, computing and more. It's being developed at Lot Fourteen in partnership by the Australian Space Agency and Questacon, with funding support from the state and federal government through the Adelaide City Deal.

It was provided courtesy of Australian String Quartet which set up shop at the precinct for two open rehearsals, a conversation with Adelaide-based composers. and a one-hour concert. This unique event was a perfect fit for Lot Fourteen which is being developed as a global innovation precinct for innovation, entrepreneurship and culture. #Adelaide #SouthAustralia #stringquartet

12.01.2022 Kaurna elder Jeffrey Newchurch talks today to tradespeople from McMahon Services Australia Ptyd, Intract, and other on-site contractors. His talk was part of the regular Toolbox Yarns series to build understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and non-Indigenous people and to highlight the importance of protecting culture and heritage artefacts. Jeffrey led a minute's silence to pay tribute to a Kaurna elder who recently passed away.... He also spoke about the importance of working together and engaging with Aboriginal people through employment and other opportunities. Jeffrey said Lot Fourteen would become a cultural precinct not only about Aboriginal People but it’s about us [all] highlighting the value it can bring to the whole South Australian community through reconciliation.

07.01.2022 Share the joy! Tarnanthi 2020 is an annual celebration of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander contemporary art, held by the Art Gallery of South Australia . Join the virtual launch on Thursday, October 15, take part in a tour of the exhibition, Open Hands, and hear from Tarnanthi artists across Australia. Lot Fourteen is proud to host the Tarnanthi Art Fair from December 4 to 6. Works of arts from hundreds of artists will be on sale, including paintings, carvings, weaving, jewellery, clothing, textiles and homewares.

It’s an initiative for site contractors to share stories and build understanding between Aboriginal and non- Aboriginal cultures as we develop our global collaborative precinct. The session kicked off with a Welcome to Country by Shane Wanganeen, Lot Fourteen’s Kaurna Community and Heritage Coordinator. Premier Marshall said the Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre planned for Lot Fourteen would play an important role in Aboriginal reconciliation and showcasing Aboriginal cultures and aspirations to the world. He acknowledged the role of contractors in preparing Lot Fourteen for the future construction of the centre.

Both are being built at Lot Fourteen and are due to open to the public in the first half of 2021.
