20.01.2022 Concise set of points from how COVID has impacted how artists get discovered... a lot of this stuff is what independent artists have been doing for years. The New Zealand suggestions are super interesting and worth a read.

19.01.2022 Officially wrapped Day 1 yesterday! We are excited to be working with a new documentary #newyearsdayfilm - a short film sharing the untold stories of brave and empowered young people through the Currowan Bushfire last summer Yesterday production began and focused on the amazing Rosie from Bawley Point who wore her heart on her sleeve to tell the story of evacuating her home town with her community ... Can’t wait for you all to see it! We’d love your support to finish the film, and any donations are tax deductible thanks to https://documentaryaustralia.com.au/project/new-years-day/ (Link in bio) A special thank you to all our supporters & crew! #newyearsdayfilm @documentaryaustralia @sunstudios @sonder.youth @headspacenowra @bennyedwards_ @avalon.hope @roughsawnprojects @loudisland @arriaustralia @canonaustraliapro @canonaustralia @zhardaker @fotollyofficial

16.01.2022 The Australian Live Music Business Council has launched today to act as the united voice of the thousands of small to medium businesses that operate our live music industry and create tens of thousands of Australian jobs in the creative economy. One of their main priorities is to advocate for the extension of Job Keeper and Job Seeker for the live music sector. The ALMBC is waiving membership until January 2021, and is open for promoters, venues, booking agents, artists, DJ's, technical crew, and basically anyone who works in the live music sector.

04.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day. Check in on your mates working in the arts and know that there is industry specific counseling available at Support Act Wellbeing Helpline 1800 959 500. It’s been a tough year, and quite a roller coaster of financial uncertainty which is having a devastating impact on many working in the arts & entertainment industry. Across Australia, many sole traders, small and medium arts & entertainment businesses won’t be able to afford to stay afloat through the co...ming months without revenue or financial support. Sadly, the $250M arts package is only taking care of the bigger arts organisations, and with the impending decrease in JobKeeper, now more than ever, your local independent artists need your support. A MASSIVE THANKS to Ben Steel for making ARTS IN LOCKDOWN, so that we all know that we aren’t alone in the challenges we are currently facing, that our voices are important & our experiences are valid. Support your local artists, venues and small businesses. Buy an album. Check in and ask RUOK?

01.01.2022 Hey all you independent musicians, tomorrow 9am (Syd-time), AIR are hosting a free webinar on Neighbouring Rights, discussing the ways artists and labels can get on top of their international revenue streams.
