21.01.2022 This is a special painting commissioned by a beautiful friend and local community champion. Fiona has been highlighting the importance of keeping green spaces in our local area, including the Curtin horse paddocks. This is an area which supports endangered species including the golden Sun moth, the swift parrot, superb parrot and the flame Robin, represented in this painting. I starting this painting with a blessing/ceremony wishing Fiona well in her campaign. She will be a great asset to have in our local assembly.

10.01.2022 Late last year a dear friend got the dreaded news that she had breast cancer. I started this painting then in response to her diagnosis. A major operation followed then we had the bushfires, not to mention covid, and I couldn't seem to finish it. This inspiring warrior has since had one hell of a ride to get on top of this cancer, and she received some long awaited good news recently. I hadn't really looked at this painting for months, but sure enough it made itself known str...aight away and I was able to complete it. The colours have resonance along this journey: Pink: unconditional love and caring. Awakening, soothing. Black: protection, grounding, strengthening Orange: harmony, perseverance, insight, wisdom Yellow: confidence, happiness, leadership White: amplifier Circles are an energy cortex of totality, wholeness and can indicate cycles. Dragonflies represent transformation and the cookatoo illuminates what's what. After hearing the good news I added a number of elements including the rain/tear drops, representing the tears shed along this tough journey, and now the tears of joy and the rain drops to cleanse and refresh. The rainbow has to follow any good rainfall and brings with it hope and beauty for the new day. To my dear sister, you are very much loved, I hope you have many many many more good news days, to wash away these past months. You, and all you beautiful woman going through or those that have come through similar inspire me. Those that have lost loved ones to cancer, I think of you as well. The courage and grace required to sit with cancer is exemplified by all. With all my love and healing vibes xxxx See more

01.01.2022 Looking behind the veil, exploring our shadow side, can be illuminating and expanding. The raven, who can enter the void as they can transcend time and space as we know it, can support us in this exploration as we learn to embrace the sides of us that we know are there but neglect. By embracing what we hold in the dark, we can come to a place of healing and wholeness. There is no room for shame and fear to hide. Next time you see a raven, you might want to think about what what message they might be wanting to communicate with you.
