20.01.2022 For today's inspiration, we feature the beautiful work of Louise Numina, who is another of the celebrated Numina sisters who were taught to paint the ‘Bush Medi...cine Leaves’ story of healing and wellbeing by their famous Aunty Gloria. Louise’s bold, confident brushstrokes almost appear to be barely contained within the outer edges of this spectacular two metre wide painting! It is also really interesting to compare the work of Selina and Louise so we can see how creatively and uniquely each of the sisters approach the sharing of this very special story. Louise started painting in 1981 before moving to Darwin in 1995, where she completed a Diploma of Fine Arts from the Northern Territory University. In recent years, Louise has achieved international recognition, with her work selling throughout Australia, Europe, the USA, Asia and the UK. In 2017, Louise collaborated with fashion designer Pia Du Pradal to produce a clothing collection, which was launched at the 2017 Mercedes Benz Fashion Parade in Brisbane. The June 2020 edition of The Australian Women's Weekly included some wonderful photos and a feature about Louise (pages 82-87) thanks to Pia du Pradal Fashion Designs and our friends at Raintree Art.
