25.01.2022 1 YEAR OF LOVE2LEARN TUTORING A year ago today I had the opening of my business Monique’s Love2Learn Tutoring. I finally had my own space to run a service that I was so passionate about and I was so excited yet nervous for what was to come. A small office with three rooms but it was perfect and so much better than living out of my car. For years I was a mobile tutor and spent hours driving around to my students houses and was coming home exhausted. I knew an office and an o...fficial business was my next goal and started to seek a suitable location. I started off with 28 students at the centre and now a year later we’ve reached over 100 and have 8 wonderful staff members who have all helped bring my vision to life. I had no idea that a passion of mine would turn into a thriving tutoring service and I’m so grateful I chose my passion. A year ago I was in my final year of studying communications and graduation was so close. I wanted to give up and knew opening a business and studying full time would be crazy but I persevered. Working with all of my students alongside our team of tutors at our new centre has been an absolute blessing over the past year. We’ve faced challenges along the way but have come out stronger every time. Thank you to all my students and parents. Without your support none of this would be possible ! I have been implementing strict hygiene measures at tutoring ensuring that all stationary and surfaces are disinfected and kept clean each day. Starting from today each student will be required to use hand sanitizer before and after their lesson and I encourage parents to do t...he same upon entering our centre if they feel the need to. To protect the health of our other students, our staff and parents, if you are feeling unwell and are experiencing any flu like symptoms please let me know prior and we will reschedule a lesson when possible. I can’t express how happy it makes me feel to see my students grow. ... I often ask myself how did we do it? Most of the time my answer is we care about the students, each and every one of them. We tailor the lessons to their learning needs and work with them, adapting our teaching strategies when needed. 22.01.2022 Consistency, visuals and adaptability Anastasia worked with me consistently to master the algorithm strategy in her mathematics. After weeks of hard work we got there and she was rewarded! Here were our steps to success ! ... 1. Consistency- We were consistent and didn’t give up. It’s important for the students to work on an area they find challenging consistently. This means daily practise! 2. Visuals- Students respond well to visual learning. Don’t just stick to pencil and paper to learn. White boards, an interactive game and visual aids! 3. Adaptability- It’s important that the students learn to adapt to a range of strategies. No student learns the same and so I believe teaching them a range of ways is crucial.

20.01.2022 We’re hosting a PYJAMA WEEK to raise money for kids in Foster Care! We’re very excited to be part of a great initiative and can’t wait to have all of our students and tutors join in on the fun in week 6. In the weeks leading up to Pyjama week our parents and students will have the chance to purchase raffle tickets and be in the running to win some awesome prizes generously donated by @gregohotel @enzos_cucina @enzoitalianrestaurant @flipoutsmeatongrange @maximum_skating and... @liverpoolcatholicclub. We are so thankful to have such great businesses supporting us in this charity event and can’t thank them enough. In week 6 students can dress in their pyjamas for their tutoring lesson, bring a gold coin, snap a fun picture using our Polaroid camera (extra competition) and purchase last minute raffle tickets. The Pyjama Foundation provide children in foster care the opportunity to change the direction of their lives with learning, life skills and confidence. They have a love of learning program which allows kids in foster care to have a ‘Pyjama Angel’ to guide them and spend time with them focusing on learning-based activities. It is because of their approach and involvement in hel...ping children that we as a tutoring centre feel we should step up and raise money for such an awesome charity. 09.01.2022 The recent NSW Government's decision to assist students affected by learning loss through a $337m investment in tutoring is a fantastic initiative that most parents and teachers would agree with. However, it is us tutoring centres across NSW that already offer this valuable service to our new and existing students. So rather than giving this funding to NSW government schools why not include us in this initiative? This program should allow parents to have a choice as to where ...they decide and how they decide to have their child's learning assisted with through local private sector tutoring centres in the form of vouchers. I ask the NSW Government whether they have thought about the negative repercussions this will have on us? Each year tutoring centres support thousands of students in their schooling from kindergarten through to year twelve. It is us tutors that have been supporting our students during COVID and us centres that will continue to support students for decades to come. We understand the high need for extra learning support in NSW schools and absolutely stand for this and have always pushed for more learning support in our schools. However let us lead this program and let us continue to change the lives of students across NSW. The Australian Tutoring Association released a press release this morning expressing their concern for tutoring centres and interest in involvement. The Australian Tutoring Association represents hundreds of centres across NSW and understands the strong need for an effective involvement in this program. 07.01.2022 Hello I haven’t properly introduced myself to you all. My name is Monique and I’m the face behind Monique’s Love2Learn Tutoring. I’m not your typical educator with decades of experience but I am a young educator who’s passionate about helping students excel in their confidence and in their education. When you think of someone who owns a tuition centre most people think retired teacher ? And well I’m definitely not that and it’s a bit of a shock to parents at first . ... Here are some fun facts about me that you may not know. 1. I’m just 21 years old (But well beyond my years). A lot of my students think I’m 30 and married with kids 2. I studied a degree in public communications to which has no relevance to my career now. However I did learn a lot about business 3. I’m a casual Nanny to a few little ones in the local area and love taking on a mum role even if it’s just for a day. 4. I love Art! In school I picked visual arts and completed a water colour major work but haven’t really had time to explore my artistic self much these days (One day I hope to re-connect to Art) 5. I’m going back to university in 2021 to study a degree in Autism (I’ll share more about this soon). That’s enough about me ! I’d love to hear a fun fact about you? Over the next week I will be organising resource packs for ALL STUDENTS (Your child doesn’t have to be a student at our centre). We know how important consistent education is and so we want to keep students occupied during this crazy time. 03.01.2022 Wishing you all a Happy New Year with the hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come! We are so thankful for what 2019 gave us. I started the year with 30 students to myself and took a leap in expanding my love of tutoring. We are now entering 2020 with more than 80 students and i couldn’t be happier! We can’t wait to see you all again in the new year for another fantastic year of learning progression. Without all our families support we wouldn’t be where we are today so thank you! We will be back open on Wednesday 8th January 2020 commencing our holiday programs. All enquiries will be answered to as soon as we can. ... 01.01.2022 MEET OUR TEAM! Hello everyone ! We are a team of 8 at Monique’s Love2Learn Tutoring and are all under the age of 24! Yep that’s right... we’re all very young and range between 16-24. ... We are all passionate young workers who have a drive to make a difference in the lives of children. Our tutor team consists of; Monique, Belinda, Analysa, Adam, Jess and Laticia who all specialise in education. Tutoring to us isn’t just a job, it’s a passion. The experience of seeing our students grow in confidence and reaching their learning goals is unimaginably rewarding to us all. We want our students to LOVE learning. This is why we have opted to a fun learning environment to which the kids thrive in especially having a young mentor who they can relate to. Our junior receptionist staff Hayley and Alyssa are the much needed members of our team who assist us greatly with the admin side of work. Having over 100 students at our centre means there are a lot of hidden tasks involved to which us as tutors often don’t have sufficient time for and that’s where the girls step in.
