I'm so excited to be chatting with them this week! With more than a decade of classroom teaching experience between them they now run community events, in-school workshops, mother-daughter connection events, professional development sessions for teachers and online courses for teen girls.... They cover real-life issues affecting our teen and pre-teen girls including body image, mental health and social pressures giving them tools and strategies to live a happy and healthy life. 23.01.2022 Pants falling down or ankles getting cold? Its a dilemma! I often get asked if our drawstrings actually work .. 100% YES! ... If you're anything like me, you're sick of buying drawstring pants only to find that the drawstring is just for show and doesn't actually pull the pants in for those with skinny waists and long legs .. FUNCTIONAL drawstrings you say? I listened when you told me that your girls were tall and skinny so it was hard to find pants that fit her properly. You said that to fit them comfortably around the waist they were too short in the legs and in order to get them long enough for their legs, they'd be too big around the waist. Not anymore! Our elastic waists and functional drawstrings give you the best of both worlds and allow girls to adjust them to their perfect fit! x Emma
23.01.2022 One of the surprising things I've loved about starting Love Haidee is the connections and friendships that I'm making. For someone who's naturally introverted, I could easily sit at my desk and work all day without speaking to another soul until my kids get home from school. But I've pushed outside my comfort zone to grow this little biz of mine, and boy I'm glad I have.... Its so rewarding to meet other like minded women and support and watch one another's businesses grow. Similarly, the friendships I've made on here is amazing. I have customers that I feel are like long lost friends and I love getting to know you. I really have met some beautiful souls who I hope I'll remain friends with for life. I'm pretty sure you know who you are! x Emma

21.01.2022 Did you know that 1 in 3 girls these days sends a nude or explicit photo on social media? Terrifying isn't it? It's enough to want to ban our kids from social media altogether. BUT, I've also seen the positive side of social media in terms of helping them make connections in a world that's rapidly becoming carried out over digital screens.... If you've ever seen a group of kids together, not speaking but all looking down at their own devices you may have then realised that they're having conversations with one another, simply online. While it's tempting to tell them to put their phones away and have real interactions, it's also the way that conversations are increasingly carried out these days (this is a whole other conversation for another day!). And at the end of the day, we still want our kids to be part of those conversations and included socially. As parents of tweens and teens, social media can be fraught with anxiety: When should we allow our kids to have social media? How do we keep them safe online? How do we help them maintain a positive social media feed and not become depressed by the curated feeds only showing a snapshot of the best moments? The Big Sister Experience shares some of their best tips based on years of experience working with teen girls. 19.01.2022 You might wonder why we chose to feature palm trees in our logo for a girls fashion brand? The truth is, that palm trees are my 'go-to thing'. What do I mean? It's the thing that makes you smile. It makes you feel good instantly when you see it. For me that's palms. Perhaps it's because they remind me of summer and holidays. They'll often make an appearance in our feed and if you've been following us for a while you'll know by now that I love to make you smile.... Love Haidee is all about lifting each other up and making girls feel good on the inside and out. We want to give girls the confidence to be themselves. 18.01.2022 Hey there. It's been a while since I introduced myself on here, so for those of you who are new around here, welcome! I'm Emma and I'm on a mission to create super comfy sleepwear and clothing for girls in those tween and early teen years. I LOVE chocolate , summer and reading a good book! ... I have two kids, Ella 13, who you'll have seen in lots of the photos by now, and Jett who's 11. I still haven't quite wrapped my head around the fact that I have a child in highschool! Both my kids have gone back to school full time as of today. I'm still not quite sure how I feel about that. I've actually loved having them around more and not having that crazy rush of after school activities. I love getting to know you all. Where are your kids right now - back at school or still homeschooling? x Emma
18.01.2022 Want to create a stronger connection with your daughter? Meet her where she's at. Find some common ground. Have you ever tried reading one of her favourite books? It's a wonderful way to strengthen that bond with your daughter. ... For me it was more good luck than any kind of planning but every now and again I'll pinch one of her books to read. In fact, I'm reading one of her books right now. A few years ago we were on a trip to Bali and I finished the couple of books I'd taken with me to read so I started on my daughter's book. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed it and went on to read the rest of the series with her. But more than that, I loved her reaction to me reading it and that we would talk about the plot and the characters together. She would look over my shoulder to see exactly where I was up to and with a knowing "..ooh.. that's a good bit"! We both love reading so this was an easy way to connect. Perhaps reading's not you/your daughter's thing but find something that you both enjoy and find some space to share in it every now and again. It could be movies or baking or some kind of craft/hobby. The key is to let her guide the choice .. it may not be a movie that you would otherwise to choose to watch but it's more about spending that time together or showing her that you're interested in what she loves. If you can talk about the little things together and have those open lines of communication it makes it so much easier when it comes to having those big conversations too. 16.01.2022 Everyone's circumstances are different. And we all handle things differently. We're all just doing the best that we can and getting through 1 day at a time. Kindness over judgement. Every time.... I honestly believe kindness is contagious. So if there's some small act of kindness you can do for someone else today, do it. You'll be surprised at how it spreads and how it fills your own cup at the same time. x
15.01.2022 My Why | If you've ever been shopping for your tween or teen girl and come home empty-handed and frustrated with the lack of choice you'll understand why I started Love Haidee. Sure, there's a number of other reasons like being my own boss and having the flexibility to be there for my kids as they grow, but that could be any small business venture. So often clothing is either too mature or made for much younger kids. And girls today are growing so much faster.... They're outgrowing childrens' clothes at an increasingly younger age and women's clothes are simply not designed for girls' bodies. I struggled to find good quality, age-appropriate clothes & sleepwear that fit properly and that my daughter actually wanted to wear. So I created it. x Emma

12.01.2022 Your Sunday night reminder | Be kind to yourself. Years ago, someone said to me when you're being hard on yourself try to reframe the situation and think about it from another perspective. Put yourself in your friend's shoes.... If your friend found themselves in a difficult situation, what would you say to them? Try treating yourself with the same love and kindness as you would give to others, because you absolutely deserve it. x Emma
12.01.2022 I love the warmer days that Spring brings with it. Though at this time of year you're never sure what the weather will send your way. One day it can be beautifully warm and the next, the temp has dropped by 10 degrees again. Or the days are warm but the nights are still cool. 10.01.2022 As the saying goes, "Every expert was once a beginner". The only way to learn and grow is to start at the beginning (unless of course, you're a total rockstar and great at everything you touch first try).. But for most people, it takes time. It takes being brave enough to be bad at something before you learn, improve and grow. I've always admired how brave my daughter Ella is. Even as a little one, she was always willing to give anything a go. And I'm so glad to see that lif...e hasn't beaten that out of her. I wish I was half as brave as her. When I started Love Haidee I was terrified. I wasn't one for social media much before that so it has been an enormous learning curve but something that I've grown to enjoy. When I look back at some of my early posts I cringe but hey, you've gotta start somewhere! If we never have a crack at new things, we'll never find those new passions and there's so much that we risk missing out on. So if there's something that you've been wanting to try but too afraid that you might look silly or fail, I urge you to have a go. What's the worst that can happen? x Emma

07.01.2022 It's R U Ok Day today, so I wanted to check in. Whether you live in Victoria or not, 2020 has been a tough year and without doubt, a rollercoaster of emotions. If you haven't checked in on your friends and loved ones lately, I urge you to do it. We should do this all the time, but I get it, life's busy. R U Ok Day is a great reminder.... But more than this, it should be the start of an open conversation about how we're all doing, not just asking the question and moving right along. So if you need someone to listen, my DM's are always open. It's also a great reminder to always live with kindness. You never really know what someone else is going through. A few kind words or taking the time to just listen can often help a person more than you think. x Emma

06.01.2022 [Behind the Name] Pronounced Love "Hay-dee". Haidee was my grandmother's name but we called her Nonni. She was a talented artist and dressmaker. She passed away when I was young but I have so many beautiful memories of spending time with her. We used to find large smooth stones and paint pictures on them and I remember painting t-shirts with 'puff paints' (for you 80's kids out there, I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about ..)! So, if you count puff paint on t-shirts the...n I guess you could say that my foray into fashion happened at an early age!!! Either way, there's a special connection between grandmothers and their grandkids and I love watching it now with my own children. What are some of your fondest memories of time spent with your grandmother? x Emma

If you haven't discovered Chenoa's swoonworthy feed you should definitely check it out. She captures the most incredible beach sunsets and the beautiful bond between her three young kids. I had the most wonderful chat with Bianca & Kritz from the Big Sister Experience yesterday about all things anxiety, social media and body image. One thing that features prominently in their tool kit is gratitude and mindfulness.... They suggest that as a family or even as a friendship group to each list one thing that you're grateful for every day. As some of you are now back in lockdown this may feel hard to do right now, but I promise you those reasons are there if you just look hard enough. If you're feeling a little (or a lot) anxious right now, why not give it a try and see the impact that it can have on your mindset. x Emma

We started our break in lockdown and the weather was pretty terrible. ... Now all of a sudden Summer has finally decided to arrive and I feel like our summer holidays should be just beginning - NOT that we should be getting the kids ready to head back to school next week!
