23.01.2022 Our 2021 Wombat Calendars are finally getting out there for sale in the Bundanoon area shops! Things have been so hectic with wombat work that I have not manage...d to get them out any sooner this year, but at last, here they are. Once again, our friends at Rocklilywombats have supported our work by passing on their beautiful and informative calendars for us to sell as our annual fundraiser. Your purchase helps us continue our work with manged wombats, fire affected and displaced wombats in Bundanoon and the surrounding towns and villages of the Southern Highlands. Cost is $10 each, plus $3 postage in Australia. International postage is $12. The calenders are sized A4, folds out to A3 when hanging. It is filled with wombat stories, and helpful information ( Like how to rescue, what to do if you find an injured animal) and this year it features Rocklilys story of last summers Bushfires. a story of Drought, Bushfire, flood, survival and renewal. If you would like to help us get these calendars out, That would be greatly appreciated. You can sell them at your workplace or to friends that would like these as well. 22.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT: BRIGADOON 17 APRIL 2021 On Wednesday the 2nd of December 2020 the Executive of the Bundanoon Highland Gathering Committee met to discuss the futur...e of Brigadoon moving forward into 2021 amid the ongoing turbulence of the COVID-19 world. The entire Committee is eager to have the Gathering in April 2021 and has been eagerly planning for the prospect that the event will be able to held in a viable way. We feel that there is a very real social need to get the community back involved in some sort of normality as the state and the country emerge from this crisis. Although the situation is a constantly changing one we are relying on the latest advice from NSW Health and are now planning for the event to go ahead with a maximum number of attendees capped at 5,000. This number of course is subject change as per NSW Health and Public Health Orders as issued by the Minister for Health and Medical Research. At this time we are optimistic and hopeful that Brigadoon will go ahead, albeit with restricted numbers. It will be a TICKETED event with numbers (total numbers of attendees including organisers and performers) limited to the current limit of 5,000. If these restrictions are changed then we will amend the numbers accordingly. In this constantly changing environment we may be allowed more attendees as the event draws closer. Let us all hope so. TICKETING WILL BE THROUGH http://www.ticketebo.com.au/ THE START DATE AND LINK WILL BE PUBLISHED AS SOON AS KNOWN. However the event is held it will be conducted in a COVID-19 safe way. 21.01.2022 Sometimes I look at what we have here at The Bundanoon Guest House and just smile... we are so lucky . The blossom , the first Rose, the Wisteria blooming and beautiful Guests. What more could I want!

19.01.2022 Severe thunderstorm warning for damaging winds and hail to impact Bundanoon by 5.40pm! More info here https://www.facebook.com/279170198822682/posts/4761353397270984/ Update 5.45pm the worst of the storm seems to have missed us and is now tracking north east of Bundanoon. The Tallong area was hit very hard with cyclonic winds bringing trees and power lines down on Highland Way & other roads.

19.01.2022 There's lots of green in the Morton National Park 9 months on from the bushfires. Some trees that didn't survive have created interesting sculptures amongst the greenery.

18.01.2022 Bundanoon on Tap double-walled stainless steel bottles were launched at the 'Now' presentation here in the World's First Bottled Water Free Town a couple of weeks ago. They look fabulous, are great quality & keep drinks cold for a longer period of time. They are now available at many shops in Bundanoon for $25 & are a great promo for our fabulous town!

18.01.2022 via Wombat Care Bundanoom Big news: We are appearing in an upcoming ABC TV Documentary about last summers devastating bushfires on Tuesday 1st December at 8.30pm. Our work in the fire-zones with the wombats and other wildlife is featured. I am not sure what will air, but the previews look good. I spoke at length about hope for the future and how we can all bring positive change to what we have left. I spoke of our caring and supportive community, and the community support ...groups that have helped us through that time, and help us still. The wombats filmed there are well known to us, They are some of our Fire survivors, and it makes me so happy to see them there in the promos. They came out on the day of filming and did us proud. This documentary features our Wingello Fire Survivors. It is so good to see them. Amazingly, they came out of their burrows during the days of ABC filming! What you will see is not 'stock wombat footage', but the Wingello survivors out there seeking the feed we deliver. I am so proud of them...This is their story. See more

09.01.2022 POWER OUTAGE! It seems most if not all of Bundanoon is currently without power due to galeforce winds bringing down a tree across power lines on Railway Avenue. Estimated time of restoration is 1.30pm according to Endeavour Energy website.

Plus our regulars with jams and chutneys, date rolls and strudels and Catherine is back offering her melting moments and shortbreads. 04.01.2022 Bundanoon is currently without power in galeforce winds, estimated time of restoration is 1.30pm. A tree has fallen across powerlines completely blocking Railway Avenue between William Street & Rosenthal Avenue. Detour via William Street, Broughton Street and Rosenthal Avenue then back onto Railway Avenue.
