17.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? The Love Taree crew recently had a tour of the new MidCoast Council headquarters Yalawanyi Ganya - which is now officially open. A few stats which impressed us: ... - Community members are able to visit and have lunch at the cafe which is run by locals. So drop in and have a coffee! - It features some stunning local Biripi art from the indigenous community - with the public art space currently showing the Barray marrung duumu exhibit, meaning ‘keep country well’, a reflection of an ode to Aboriginal culture in our area. - There are over 13,000 native plants within the facility. Wow!!! - The construction came in on budget at $20M & moving forward will have lower annual running costs than previous facilities. - 160kw of Solar Panels which is equivalent to 60,000kg of less coal burnt & 3227 trees planted every year! - Mid Coast Council own the building, meaning it will appreciate over time. - The building is home to 350 of the 1100 employees of MCC. - Rooms are available for Public Hire. It's simply a space that is well beyond your expectation when you first walk through the doors. If you haven't had a chance to visit yet, we suggest you do. Planned tours are something that will be happening in the future - so watch this space and we'll keep you posted with details. #lovewherewelive #lovetaree

13.01.2022 The rural and relaxed lifestyle is what drew the attention of Jess & Luke to #lovetaree and make the change. Easy country living - close enough for a visit to the big smoke, it's proven to be the best move they've made. . #thegoodlife #inthecountry #worklifebalance #lovewherewelive #regionalnsw #barringtoncoast #aplacetocallhome

10.01.2022 It’s times like this we thank ourselves for living in such a special community. Fellow neighbours, businesses and friends all banding together to make light work of the big clean up ahead. #lovetaree #lovewherewelive

07.01.2022 Go further... close to home. That's the exciting message and opportunity that the Taree Universities Campus will have to offer in 2021 and beyond. Removing barriers and encouraging students to pursue a degree in their chosen pathway is only one of many benefits. They want to hear from you about the courses you'd like to study! #lovetaree #gofurtherclosetohome #tareeuni #barringtoncoast #lovewherewelive

06.01.2022 Team Taree has been busy working on a number of projects collaboratively with multiple groups with some great future improvements for our local community. Projects earmarked for 2021 where we need your help: ** NORTHERN GATEWAY ** ... This project will progress as the new roundabout for the Northern Gateway project gets underway. We're currently in discussions with Mid Coast Council and RMS to ensure we get this area to present in a way that enhances the perception of Taree, right from the entrance. ** BICENTENNIAL PARK ** This area has both Friends of Brown’s Creek and Rotary Club of Taree working together on some great ideas and upgrades that will tie in with the extension of the pathway and the new Brown’s Creek bridge linking to Pitt Street. Mid Coast Council is working on weed management and will be removing dead trees to allow the community groups the ability to carry out a thorough clean up early in the new year. When pre works are complete we'll announce some dates for working bees! ** SOUTHERN GATEWAY ** This area has a lot of work required. Currently, Team Taree are working on planning ideas with Mid Coast Council, RMS and the Service Centre. Working bees for the Southern Entrance will be announced in early 2021 when the weather is a little cooler. ** WELCOME SIGNAGE ** Team Taree has been reviewing locations for new 'Welcome to Taree' signage in conjunction with a number of groups including the Biripi community to ensure we capture the amazing Aboriginal heritage and culture our region has. ** HIGHWAY SIGNAGE ** RMS will shortly be placing new highway signage with images of Taree providing a visual snapshot of the area to encourage people to make Taree a destination rather than bypassing our amazing town. All in all, lots of planning underway and some exciting enhancements on the books for 2021 where we will be reaching out to the community to lend a hand in showing we are proud of where we live! #lovetaree #lovewherewelive #barringtoncoast

05.01.2022 Great to see some action happening on the Southern Gateway entrance to Taree! Team Taree has been working with Stephen Bromhead MP, Transport for NSW, and MidCoast Council to collectively come up with an initial tidy up and then work towards longer-term solutions to ensure the entrance to our great town presents as it should - inviting people to visit Taree and show we are proud of where we live. The highway presents a number of safety issues, and this project was beyond com...munity members scope so it is great to see all levels of government stepping in to assist. Team Taree is about our community coming together and facilitating action to achieve an outcome that improves and promotes our region. This project spearheads several new and exciting projects for the entrances to the town that we will be calling for assistance from within the community in 2021. Keep an eye out for the call-up! Huge thumbs up to all concerned with the Southern Clean Up! . . #appreciationpost #readyforchristmas #gatewaytoparadise #taree #barringtoncoast #midnorthcoast #regionalnsw #lovewherewelive #lovetaree

02.01.2022 Great news for our local community! #lovewherewelive #lovetaree
