20.01.2022 Hey my artsy friends! With a grateful heart, I want to thank the amazing artist Ozlem Aliyazicioglu Yeni for introducing me to the wonderful folks of QMF (Queensland Music Festival). They including me in their wonderful outdoor theatre production called the Mount ISA Blast. We had dress up rehearsals tonight and everyone has put in 110% and it’s looking amazing! There wonderful musicians, singers acrobatics, motocross cyclists and even even bobcat dancing! The performances ...are for this coming weekend July 25th, 26th, 27th. I was hired by QMF to liaison with the Kalkadoon Community and local aboriginal painter artist Barbara Sam, to build and perform in this stylistic Emu character. The staff of QMF are great to work with and we are all loving how the program has been coming, bringing together such a diversity of cultures, age and talent. Last Wednesday, the 23rd of October, the North West Hospital and Health Services in partnership with Save The Children, North West Remote Health and Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council hosted a collaborative Health Expo in Doomadgee, Queensland, Australia. It was a wonderful opportunity for the North West HHS to partner with service providers in Doomadgee to deliver important health messages to children in a fun and ...entertaining environment. I am so grateful for such a wonderful opportunity. Thank you for such wonderful words of kindness! ................. Special entertainment included Mount Isa artist and puppeteer Louis Johnson and his marvellous mechanical puppet Dr Kevin, who helped spread the message on how to prevent trachoma and was extremely popular with the children! 06.01.2022 Whew! Pumped up and workin’ like crazy to get this Emu character done for a show here in Mt ISA at the end of this month. Here are pics of just the head so far. The character is the totem for the Kalkadoon Community Aboriginal people in an upcoming show called The Mt ISA Blast. I’m also working with Barbara Sam, a local indigenous aboriginal artist. Her work will be tattooed on the Emu depicting the history of the Kalkadoon people.
