23.01.2022 BOOK SORTING for BOOKLOVERS and COLLECTORS Step 9 of 10 Decide How to Dispose of Your Unwanted but Appraised Books. Assuming you haven’t decided to add your more valuable books to your keep pile there are two choices: donation of the lot or donation of the less valuable and possible sale of the remainder. Further information can be emailed. It is only fair to state Love Vintage Books only buys selected titles (an email list is available) We definitely do not want any bo...ok donations. 19.01.2022 BOOK SORTING for BOOKLOVERS and COLLECTORS Step 10 of 10 Store Your Books Carefully. Having decided on the books you want to keep it is worthwhile to store them carefully. Ideally they should be standing upright in shelves away from direct sunlight. It is preferable shelves are not too tall for the books they will hold as this makes it easy for dust to gather on the top edges. Ideally your most valuable books should be behind glass. If shelf space is unavailable ch...oose crates rather than cardboard boxes which can be bumped damaging the extremities of the books stored on the sides. Make sure these are not stored in a damp place and are not crammed which can also cause damage. If you now know a book is very valuable wrap it in soft cloth. An old pillow case can work very well. ENJOY YOUR BOOKS and YOUR COLLECTION! #caringforoldbooks #rarebookappraisal
