19.01.2022 Here at LYH Central we love the tips on Netflix’ ‘The Home Edit’ so much we had to give it a whirl. And there’s no better time than when the weather warms and you’re ready to swap seasonal outfits in your wardrobe. If you can get past the reality TV talk, the tips are good: 1. Edit - If you don’t love or wear it, ditch it. And do you really need 6 pairs of jeans Someone else will benefit from your edit. 2. Categorise - put similar items (think length, weight, use and colou...rs) together. Like mini rainbows 3. Contain - Find a place for groups of items. Sports stuff, coats, evening wear may just be better in (preferable clear) containers or baskets or another room 4. Maintain - if you buy or get gifted new clothes, be sure to pass on your pre-loved items. We love decluttering and reckon twice a year, as the seasons change, is good to do this So what are you waiting for? Get to i! 16.01.2022 Happy Fri-YAY! Wanna repaint or restyle a room this long weekend but can’t decide on the look you’re after? Pinterest boards can be super helpful and fun, but often just looking around your own home and garden can give you the inspo and confidence you need to express yourself. ... After all, the things you collect from nature, along with the décor, treasures and clothes you collect and display, are the colours, textures and pieces you love, right? So, try rounding up these everyday treasures, arrange them together til you’re happy with the combo and snap a photo to create your own project mood board - like this one. Just keep in mind you should declutter first and think about the 60-30-10 colour rule for styling any space. About 60% should be your main colour (often warm or cool neutral for big areas like walls), 30% for your secondary colour (often a few shades deeper or different enough to add interest, through things like rugs or curtains) and 10% for a vibrant, bold or contrasting colour or two you love (like cushions, throws and art). So, what are you waiting for? While the Croisette chair is the ‘hero’ piece, it was picked up for a fraction of its original price on Marketplace.... The bed, side table, lamp and bedding also came from Marketplace and varied in price from $25 for the lamp and table to $80 for the bed, including sheets and doona.
