22.01.2022 We are proud to introduce our Head Chef Adrien Voisin. Adrien comes from a restaurateur family based in Marseille in which his Grandfather, Mother and Father e...ither owned or ran restaurants. His Grandfathers restaurant was famous in the 80’s and the most popular dish being bouillabaisse will likely get a run at Monty’s. Having worked in Perth the last few years Adrien has made the Leap to Monty’s and is looking forward to presenting quality Modern Australian dishes for you to enjoy. In his own words a good chef is nothing without a team and we are actively searching and interviewing for the roles available in the kitchen. Sous, Pastry, Chef de partie and apprentice. This is a great opportunity for chefs all levels (We need a sous to become head down the track) to work in a brand new kitchen with all modern equipment. We will be doing a casual fine dining, modern Australian cuisine, using all amazing products from Western Australia such as natives, marrons, crayfish, Blackwood valley beef, dormer lamb, Albany oysters and line caught fish. Working mainly day shifts, we will make as much as possible in house in an off the grid cellar and a garden is in the making at the moment. It would involve picking up our supply from markets and local growers and producers within the Albany area. Managed by a talented chef and a multi awarded wine maker, there is lots of room for growth as the business is expanding. Thursday 27th evening and also last night, the Napier Hall and the Upper Kalgan Hall have also been targeted. Please be vigilant - the person of interest is targeting vulnerable property so please look out for your neighbours ( especially the elderly) . 04.01.2022 This is going to be so fun, for a good cause and only a gold coin donation! The church, the community store and the vibrant community gardens are so proud to h...ost our community for this event. Its been a tough year for so many and we love to help wherever we can, from our garden beds open to public, to the ones cared for by ACTIV volunteers, helping them learn skills and become more self sufficient, our workshops right to our evenings in the garden and so much more. This fair, we want to be able to raise funds for another local community volunteer organisation: The Kalgan Volunteer Bushfire Brigade, who are in need for a new fire shed. So funds raised from food and other activities will be donated to them!! On top of that, the Good Life Community Garden are going to donate 50% of all the plant sales on the day! All stall holders will also have an opportunity to donate some of their sales if they wish to. There will be (Drum roll please) Local Artisans offering crafts and products for sale Andrew and his famous woodfired pizzas Live Music from Local Muso's Delish food available, including homeade Devonshire Tea & Sausage Sizzle Face painting, games and a bouncy castle for the kiddo's Keep watching to find our more about the things happening on the day, please like and follow our page to keep in the loop!
